The Austrian stuntman Günter Schachermayr has established a new record riding a scooter, tackling a quarter of a mile in a slalom on a single wheel, blindfolded e breathless.

The news

The record was achieved on the starting straight of the Red Bull Ring, the well-known Austrian track in Spielberg. A quarter-mile slalom challenge, corresponding to 402 meters, to be tackled on a single wheel, blindfolded and even free-diving.

The stuntman did it in front of 30.000 spectators, along the starting straight of the track, where 60 pins. Schachermayr, since he was blindfolded and faced the test without breathing, followed the instructions suggested via radio by a collaborator, while tackling the slalom doing a wheelie on a historic example of a Vespa without the front wheel.

The feat was accomplished with his head covered by a dark sack, in just over two minutes and 17 seconds. The greatest difficulty was represented by the state of apnea and the stuntman trained for a long time to hold his breath as much as possible, also taking into account the absence of reference points, the effort to maintain balance and the movements oriented towards the right and left to complete the slalom.
