Triumph Street Triple R and S – In addition to the top-of-the-range Street Triple RS, Triumph will offer two other new features, the S and the R.

Triumph Street Triple R

The Triumph Street Triple R will be available from May 2017 and will be positioned between the S and RS. It is difficult to identify differences between the R and the RS. The latter has 5 HP more, while the maximum torque is identical. The front calipers are Brembo M4.32 monoblocs and are more than up to the task, while the Showa Separate Function Big Piston Fork is unlikely to disappoint. There's also the fully adjustable Showa monoshock. There are, however, four rider modes: Rain, Road, Sport and Rider Programmable.

Triumph Street Triple S

It will be available from April 2017. The entry level will have the final S. In the UK, they have confirmed the price at 8000 pounds and it will certainly be the "simplest" model in the range, this does not mean that it is devoid of character. Power is up 6,6% compared to the old 675, which means 112 HP @ 11,250 rpm and 72,94 Nm torque. At the front we find the non-adjustable Showa Separate Function Fork (SFF) and an adjustable Showa monoshock in the preload at the rear. The brakes are another key point and for this we have ABS as standard.

The S is also the only model not characterized by the new 5″ TFT, but it has a new series of indicators, stolen from the Speed Triple, through which it is possible to view all the information, as well as keep two new Riders under control mode (Road and Rain) and switchable traction control.

Street Triple S for A2 licenses

As if three new models weren't enough, there are two additional options. The first is a version based on the S model and can be used with an A2 licence. It's visually identical to the S, but actually boasts a completely different engine derived from the 675cc triple. With a new bore and stroke of 76 x 48,48 millimeters, it is actually a 660cc, which 95 hp. It will be available from June 2017.

New 'Low Ride Height' Street Triple R

Here the seat height is 780 millimeters. Rather than simply removing all the seat padding, Triumph has equipped this model with a number of changes that allow it to preserve its handling characteristics on the road, while also accommodating shorter legs. The fork is from the R, but the travel is reduced to effectively lower the front end. The rear shock is also similar to the R's Showa, but is shorter, thus eliminating the possibility of rebound adjustment, while the preload adjustment remains. The seat profile is also marginally lower, while the seat and subframe remain unchanged. In all other respects it is identical to the R.

The range will officially debut at the MCN London Motorcycle Show on February 17th.
