Personal interpretation of the Sport Heritage model

Yard Built XSR700 by Bunker Custom Motorcycles – The warm weather is now in full swing and Yamaha heads to Istanbul, Turkey to begin a collaboration with a new member of the Yard Built family, Bunker Custom Motorcycles.

The two first attracted the attention of Yamaha Motor Europe with the originality of their special 500 Yamaha SR1982. The classic Yamaha with essential lines stood out for its craftsmanship and authenticity, and above all, because it was born to be guided. Thus was born the collaboration with Yamaha, and the pair have spent the last few months adding Bunker Custom styling to the Yamaha whatever else lies ahead. To create their personal interpretation of the Sport Heritage model, the Bunker Customs have raised the seat position and created more space in front of the rider, to give him more freedom of movement. They also achieved greater ground clearance by repositioning the exhaust and fitting a 19" front wheel, suitable for all terrains.

To give the bike a “Bunker” look, all plastics were replaced with hand-beaten 2mm aluminum sheets, including the tank cover, side panels, front and rear fenders, radiator cover and seat base . The herringbone tank protector is machined from billet aluminum, sandblasted and brushed for a dazzling look. The Renthal clip-on handlebars have the right height for the new riding position, like the saddle which has been raised by 6 cm. A result achieved with an extension that can be mounted on any XSR700 series frame. The suede seat cover adds a touch of style. The closure is the original one. To maintain comfort and practicality on difficult terrain, without sacrificing aesthetics, the special features the MT-09 Tracer upside-down fork. The original rims have also been replaced by spoked ones from the Super Ténéré, which are fitted with Goldentyre GT201 tyres, 19" at the front and 17" at the rear. To enhance practicality, the ground clearance increases from 14 cm to 20 cm, while the silencer and exhaust manifold have been repositioned. The exhaust is handcrafted from steel, and incorporates an Akrapovič catalytic converter where the muffler and 2-in-1 exhaust join.

Bunker Customs completed the work with numerous original Yamaha accessories, including the billet clutch and brake lever, footpegs and side stand supports. The bike is painted with a minimalist and clean, but very attractive style, inspired by the 80s.
