New Triumph Tiger Explorer – Despite being one of the most expensive bikes in the British brand's range, the Tiger Explorer is Triumph's top-selling two-wheeler in the UK and this spy photo proves that the next generation will be heavily updated.

The main components of the bike, such as the engine and the frame, remain unchanged, while the chassis will be completely revised, including new suspensions, brakes and the electronics package, which in particular will be completely renewed. Last month we revealed some details about a survey Triumph sent out to its Explorer customers discussing possible updates for the next version and now it looks like the New Triumph Tiger Explorer has incorporated at least some of them. The survey asked potential buyers to rate any new features, including semi-active suspension, cornering ABS or traction control, and these appear to have been used to create the New Triumph Tiger Explorer.

Starting with the suspension, the new forks look like the same WP units used on the KTM 1290 Super Adventure. We are talking about semi-active suspensions that react to sudden changes, braking and acceleration, linked to the multiple driving modes. In the lower part of the fork we notice, however, Brembo brake calipers instead of the current Nissins on the Tiger Explorer. The brake upgrade therefore also seems very likely and includes the addition of cornering ABS, which is also offered on the KTM and BMW R1200GS MY 2016. Furthermore, the electric screen is part of a style renewal which also includes new instruments, revised side panels and the new “nose”. While the survey had asked whether pilots would have preferred a larger fuel tank, it appears that the old unit will be brought back on as well New Triumph Tiger Explorer.

Given that the English brand's website lists the existing Tiger Explorer as a 2016 model year, the new version could be planned as part of the 2017 Triumph range.
