New BMW R 1250 RS: the new touring bike officially revealed [PHOTO]

BMW Motorrad presented in recent hours the new BMW R 1250 RS which is more innovative and sophisticated and offers a cutting-edge sports and dynamic tourism experience.

Thanks also to the boxer engine, the new R 1250 RS It offers sporty and dynamic driving pleasure on country roads and at the same time superior comfort on longer tours. The Bavarian motorcycle manufacturer has implemented some new standard and optional features to make sports tourism even more dynamic and relaxing.

It continues to use the 136 HP two-cylinder boxer

It remained unchanged legendary 1.25 liter two-cylinder boxer engine (Euro 5) which develops 136 hp of power. Thanks to technology BMW ShiftCam, due to the variation of valve timing and lift on the intake side, the engine offers great power at all speeds, extremely smooth and silent operation and interesting emissions and fuel consumption values.

The new BMW R 1250 RS offers the Riding Modes Pro with driving mode preselection and engine drag torque control. The automatic stability control, offered as standard, guarantees a high level of driving safety thanks to excellent traction.

It is also available new Eco driving mode which helps the pilot travel as efficiently as possible. In particular, this mode allows the rider to use ShiftCam technology in order to obtain the maximum possible autonomy. Additionally, in Eco mode, the color TFT display shows efficiency in the top status line.

A 5V/2.5A USB-A port has been added

The new R 1250 RS Adventure is equipped as standard with BMW Integral ABS Pro. It is a braking system that offers even more safety when braking (even when cornering) and that thinks even further ahead. As the concept of riding modes continues to expand, more new functions will be added in the future.

Also available in the Riding Modes Pro option is the Dynamic Brake Control which further supports the rider in emergency braking manoeuvres. Like the previous model, the new motorcycle offers a TFT color display with integrated arrow navigation and extensive connectivity. The pilot has the option to choose between customized displays for various purposes.

Two different power sockets are available on board. In particular, we have a 12V power socket and an additional one 5V/2.5A USB Type A port. The latter allows fast charging depending on the type of smartphone used. There is also the intelligent emergency call system as standard to provide rapid assistance in the event of an emergency.

As an option, BMW Motorrad offers the saddle heating system for rider and passenger which easily increases comfort at low temperatures. The heated seats are available together with two solo seats and are offered exclusively in combination with heated grips.

Furthermore, the rider's seat offers five heating levels instead of two and can be managed through a dedicated menu. The passenger seat, however, offers two heating levels which can be operated via the switch located at the bottom left of the rear subframe.

As a new factory option, we have tubular handlebars that are slightly wider and higher than the standard ones and also less inclined. In the basic variant, the new BMW R 1250 RS offers the Icegrey color non-metallic in combination with a black frame. Finally, with the model Triple Black Sport (available as an option), it is possible to choose between two particularly expressive color concepts.
