The primary objective in creating the new RSV4 is to be the best superbike without compromise, the closest in terms of performance and effectiveness to the current Aprilia motorcycles dedicated to racing. Thanks to the experience acquired in the most selective speed championships, such as WSBK and MotoGP, Aprilia is able to transfer technologies such as the new full Ride-by-wire throttle control and the further evolved APRC dynamic control package into the standard product. . Thanks also to the work carried out on the engine, now compliant with the Euro 4 regulation, without having lost anything in terms of power and usability, the new RSV4 is on average over 1 second per lap faster than the previous version.

The New Aprilia RSV4 also has the new APRC (Aprilia Performance Ride Control), i.e. the package of control systems directly derived from the winning technology in the Superbike world championship. The progress was possible mainly thanks to the repositioning of the inertial platform that governs its operation, allowing a better possibility of detecting the dynamic conditions of the motorcycle and therefore more effective electronic control strategies. The fourth evolution of Aprilia's APRC integrates best with the fine electronic management guaranteed by the new fully integrated full Ride-by-Wire throttle control, which allowed the elimination of every superfluous component for the electronic management of the butterflies, thus saving 590 grams.

There is also something new on the New RSV4 Aprilia Pit Limiter, the system that allows you to select and limit the maximum speed allowed to proceed along the pit lanes of the circuits, or simply easily respect the speed limits allowed on roads open to traffic, and the new Aprilia Cruise Control, that is, the new electronic management has made it possible to introduce an advanced cruise control system, very convenient during longer journeys, as it allows you to maintain the set speed without acting on the throttle control.

The engine of the New Aprilia RSV4 also gains a new exhaust system with silencer equipped with a double Lambda probe and integrated valve, while the engine control unit is new with superior calculation capabilities, capable of managing the increase in the maximum rotation speed , now 300 rpm. superior. The engine now boasts a superior extension capacity and it is also for this reason that the variable trim intake ducts, deemed no longer necessary, have been eliminated, a choice which has contributed to reducing the weight of the fuel elements by 500 grams. In order to increase performance and reliability, new and lighter pistons have been introduced, equipped with new segments that reduce the blow-by phenomenon. Furthermore, a honing treatment has been added to the connecting rod heads, further reducing friction. The valve return springs are also new, to guarantee reliability during the most demanding workloads, while the valves benefit from optimized timing, capable of increasing performance and reliability. Finally, the gearbox is now equipped with a linear sensor which guarantees flawless gearshift operation.

The New Aprilia RSV4 is the only superbike that allows you to adjust the position of the engine in the frame, the inclination of the steering head, the adjustment of the swingarm pivot and the height of the rear axle, as well as of course the suspensions in all their functions. Just like a real racing bike. The RF version of the RSV4 gains new and more sophisticated suspensions, finely adjustable in both hydraulics and spring preload, more performing and over 800 grams lighter than the previous ones. The fork is a latest generation Öhlins NIX unit as is the TTX shock absorber, which works by means of a new progressive linkage which increases the reaction speed of the shock absorber itself. There is also an adjustable steering damper, also supplied by Öhlins. Aprilia introduces important innovations in the Brembo braking system on the new RSV4s. The front features a pair of new steel discs with a diameter increased to 330 mm and a thickness of 5 mm, on which the M50 monobloc calipers equipped with new brake pads with a higher friction coefficient act.
