Niu NGT and Niu M+: urban mobility goes green at EICMA 2018 [INTERVIEW]

NGT is the first scooter with two batteries, one with Panasonic cells and a 3 kW Bosh motor, which will allow you to reach a maximum speed of up to 70 km/h and over 100 km of autonomy

The company has announced a series of initiatives in schools and at upcoming fairs to introduce teenagers to electric mobility

NIU - A EICMA 2018 vehicles designed for urban mobility, such as those of Niu which in Milan presented a series of innovations designed in collaboration with Bosch, Panasonic e Vodafone, with the aim of creating the new generation of smart electric scooters, designed to meet the needs of European consumers. We talked about it with Michael Castellano, EU Regional Sales Representative: “At EICMA we presented the NGT model, the first scooter with two batteries, namely one with Panasonic cells and a 3 kW Bosh motor which will allow a maximum speed of up to 70 km/h and over 100 kilometers of autonomy".

But that's not all.

“Exactly, we also brought M+, the revisitation of the M model, the second product from our company. Also in this case we have increased the capacity of the battery which now reaches 100 km of autonomy and 45 km/h of maximum speed because it is equivalent to a 50 cc scooter".

Do you have any initiatives in mind to ensure that your vehicles gain a foothold in a market that is usually refractory to electric vehicles like the Italian one?

“We have developed a sharing program to be present on the road and therefore more visible. With our sellers and distributors, however, we are implementing various initiatives at fairs, but also in schools, to make it clear that electric is a fundamental step towards the mobility of the future".
