It will be a busy summer for Energica Ego Corsa: at the beginning of the year, the 2019 version of the electric super sports car began an intense test programme, on the MotoGP™ tracks and privately, in preparation for the 2019 FIM Enel MotoE™ World Cup.

Since the end of March 2019, the Ego Corsa has completed an average of 60 laps per day, covering a total distance of 4000km.

On the occasion of the Czech Republic Grand Prix, held last weekend in Brno, Randy Mamola, a true legend of the "old" 500 class, tested the Ego Corsa for the demo lap.

“Having had the chance to take to the track on the Ego Corsa in Brno was great” – commented Randy Mamola – “I didn't know what to expect, but the moment I turned the accelerator knob the sensations given by the torque and the thrust of the bike made me smile with happiness. The uniqueness of this bike makes me want to ride it again. The FIM Enel MotoE World Cup will certainly be an interesting category to follow in 2019. Congratulations to Dorna, FIM and Energica!”

Also on the occasion of the GP at the Red Bull Ring, in Austria, scheduled for this weekend, the 2019 Ego Corsa will also return to the track with Loris Capirossi and the official test rider Alessandro Brannetti who will be busy evaluating the setup of the bike, especially from a race perspective .

Taking part in the demo lap of the Austrian Grand Prix on Sunday 12 August at 13pm will be Alex Hoffmann, former World Championship star and current commentator, who became the official test driver once his racing career ended.

“I'm curious to try the Ego Corsa” – said Alex Hoffmann – “Several drivers have done it before me and now it's my turn. I've driven electric cars in the past, but never a motorcycle, so this will be a debut for me. It will be a particularly special event because Servus TV, the television network I work with for the MotoGP, will broadcast the demo lap live and I will do the commentary directly from the bike. It will be something really special!”
