Placed on the highest step both by the house itself and by national and international critics, the YamahaR1M it updates itself, leaving behind a trail of followers who perhaps have never managed to reach its level of performance and electronic efficiency at the service of safety and performance. Building on this same foundation, the YZF-R1M MY 2018 promises to be the most advanced production motorcycle ever produced by Yamaha. Pushed by a CP4 crossplane engine da 200 CV and equipped with sophisticated electronic control technologies developed directly from the YZR-M1, the YZF-R1M allows the most demanding riders and those who love to caress the curbs of the track with their motorbike, the possibility of fully exploiting their incredible potential. The work of the electronics is also made even more effective thanks to various software updates which allow the Iwata two-wheeler to optimally discharge all its enormous power, maximizing grip on the asphalt so as not to lose grip and therefore precious tenths per lap.

It also comes with exclusives Öhlins Racing electronic suspension (ERS) capable of continuously adapting to the asphalt and grip conditions in real time, ensuring the best possible feeling between the rider and the bike. They manage to work perfectly by instantly analyzing the data coming from the 6-axis inertial platform (IMU) and precisely regulating the compression and rebound values of the fork and mono shock. ERS also prevents fork sinking and minimizes rear end sag or “squat.” The possibility of being able to individually adjust the settings for brakes, steering, power delivery and cornering behavior is very satisfying, so as to tailor the bike perfectly to your skin. For 2018, the YZF-R1M is equipped with a Quick Shift System gearbox even more sophisticated, designed to guarantee reliable and rapid gear changes without having to use the clutch even when downshifting. Together with the re-mapped ECU, the LIFt control (LIF) has also been perfected, thus becoming a sophisticated system that monitors and regulates power delivery, so as to avoid unpleasant unwanted wheelies that would make the rider lose concentration unnecessarily.

YZF-R1M MY 2018 will be available, in the Silver Blue Carbon color, in limited quantities and only upon online booking. Reservations by teams and riders will be open on the Yamaha website starting from November 27, reserving owners the opportunity to participate in the Yamaha Racing Experience.

With an enviable track record in many endurance, private and amateur competitions, the new YZF-R1 inherits all the technologies and characteristics of the superior R1M, including above all the formidable QSS electronic gear shift, which offers maximum fluidity both when engaging and downshifting, making driving easier especially on busy and urban sections. He then proposes what has already been appreciated m998 cc crossplane engine with 4 cylinders and an impressive 200 HP, for a power delivery that is certainly not within everyone's reach. Traction control and slide control have also been improved to make tight bends at high speeds safer and more stable. But all this power and technology would not be such if not coupled with a low weight of only 199 kg, which still make a motorcycle of this displacement agile in traffic. A renewed one takes care of managing the reactions on the rear wheel aluminum swingarm with reinforcing truss and a sophisticated magnesium frame. Again with a view to reducing weight, we find the sporty magnesium rims coupled with a tank made of aluminium.
