New Yamaha Niken – The house of Diapason introduces the new version of Niken, the distinctive three-wheeled vehicle designed to convey particular sensations on every curve

Two wheels in front with a new external double-rod upside-down fork. The new Yamaha Nike constitutes the updated interpretation of a different and highly versatile idea of dynamism, enlivened by a 4-stroke three-cylinder engine.

Already the protagonist in the Japanese company's stand at Tokyo Salon, whose spotlights came on today and will remain active until 5th November, more information on the new Niken will also be offered at the EICMA Press Première of Yamaha “Pioneers of Emotions”, scheduled for the evening of 6th November, 21.00 hours, shortly before the two days reserved for the printing of the new edition of International exhibition dedicated to cycles and motorcycles, present in the spaces of Rho Milan Fair in a few days.

Returning to the new Niken, it is not only the singular and distinctive development of the double-stem upside-down fork on the external front area that is the most interesting aspect of the three-wheeled motorcycle; but also and above all the dedicated technology Leaning Multi-Wheeler (LMW) studied by the house of Iwata to soften the effect of the change dictated by different driving conditions and amplify stability on hairpin bends and on different sections, especially when cornering. An aspect which, based on what was anticipated, would thus allow for a higher feeling of safety and ease of use, as well as a particularly strong feeling of dynamism. Conditions which, in addition to a more pronounced ride comfort, would translate into captivating sensations of mobility, as well as counting on the support of the two front wheels to best interpret the bumps in the asphalt and the different types of route faced.

The length of the new one Niken amounts to 2.150 millimeters, compared to one width of 885 mm andheight of 1.250 mm, from what has been reported. The thrust is entrusted to one 4-stroke, 4-valve, three-cylinder petrol engine, distribution with double overhead camshaft (DOHC) and liquid cooling system.
