They will also arrive at EICMA 2015
New Triumph Speed Triple S & R – Triumph has finally unveiled its two new Speed Triple S&Rs, a week before the upcoming EICMA, scheduled to take place in Milan from 19 to 22 November, where we expect to see even more of the Hinckley brand's new models, including a new version of the Tiger Explorer.
Official information confirms that Triumph has given its new Speed Triple S & R a complete rework. More power, more torque, new headlights, a redesigned bodywork and a series of updates in terms of electronics. The result is the most refined and balanced version the British model has ever had. Displacement remains identical to the outgoing model, 1050cc, but requirements to ensure Euro4 emissions have led to a total of 104 changes, including an overall reduction in its width by 20mm. Owners thus gain in power and, above all, in torque, at all speeds. Furthermore, the fuel saving is 10%.
Engine engine developments New Triumph Speed Triple S & R include a new combustion chamber, cylinder head, piston design and ride-by-wire throttle bodies. There's also a new 'slip assist' clutch, a smaller but more efficient radiator and a less restrictive exhaust, which boasts a 70% increase in flow. Furthermore, we have a new control unit, coupled to the ride-by-wire throttle bodies, which brings with it five new driving modes to choose from. Four are pre-set, Road, Rain, Sport, Track, while there is also a configurable rider mode, allowing owners to adjust the Speed Triple's set-up to suit personal taste or the environment.
Oral New Triumph Speed Triple S & R they seem to be more elegant and more sophisticated, without losing any of their aggressiveness, their trademark. The double headlight is the hallmark of these two new models and the air intake offers greater air flow for the new engine. At the other end of the Triples we find the tail which draws inspiration from the new Daytona 675R, which frames the dual exhaust. The new R model differs from the S model due to the carbon fiber front mudguard, the fuel tank mirrors and the Öhlins NIX30 reversed frame. The S model will be available in Diablo Red and Phantom Black, while the R in Crystal White and Matt Graphite, both with red subframes and other distinctive design features. Triumph hasn't confirmed the price yet, but we expect the Speed Triple S to cost around 14.300 euros, while the R version is likely to tip the scales towards 16.000.
