They will almost be clones of the KTMs seen at EICMA 2014

New Husqvarna 701 – If these two prototypes had simply been painted black and orange like the other KTMs, most likely no one would have noticed them and, instead, their camouflage was a foolproof guarantee that someone would photograph them.

The bikes intercepted in Tenerife are not actually KTMs, but new ones Husqvarna 701 supermoto, presented last year at EICMA, and one of his own enduro version. Both look like slightly reworked KTMs, though. The frames, engines, suspension, wheels and ABS should have been taken directly from KTM 690 Enduro R and from KTM 690 SMC R. It's not a big surprise given that Husqvarna is currently owned by Stefan Pierer's KTM and therefore under his direct influence.

The new Husqvarnas stand out a different style, with a new seat, new side panels and new front and rear lights, but in terms of specifications they could be direct clones of the KTMs, with the same 690cc single-cylinder engines, with the same WP suspensions and the same tubular steel frame. Presumably the prices also cannot be very far apart, around 8.000 euro.
