New Honda CRF1000L Africa Twin – The new hyper-technological 2016 model adds charm, off-road performance, touring comfort, fun around the bends and incredible reliability to the qualities that have made the queen of the Paris-Dakar rally timeless. the modern performance of an all-new 1000cc, 95 HP parallel twin (also available with DCT dual clutch gearbox and 'G' driving mode for off-road), mounted in a rigid steel frame that acts as the skeleton for a very high level chassis with multi-adjustable suspension.

In Italy, the New Honda CRF1000L Africa Twin is available in three versions: Standard (manual gearbox and no electronic driving aids), ABS (with anti-lock braking system and HSTC traction control, Honda Selectable Torque Control) e DCT-ABS (with anti-lock braking system, HSTC traction control and DCT dual clutch sequential gearbox). Su all new 2016 models equipped with DCT (Dual Clutch Transmission), the management software takes a further leap forward to offer even more sophisticated functions and make driving increasingly pleasant and rewarding. The well-known D (Drive) mode is joined by the new S (Sport) mode, now available in 3 levels (S1, S2, S3) with setting memory, to allow even more pilots of any experience and ability to find total satisfaction and effectiveness of driving in any condition and on any type of route. Furthermore, there is a slope sensor which recognizes uphill and downhill slopes and adapts the gear change, always keeping the most appropriate gear inserted to guarantee the best thrust and traction and correct engine braking. And to make driving even more fluid, effective and pleasant, there is the Adaptive Clutch Capability Control system, which manages the two clutches so as to cancel the effects of opening and closing with the throttle control. Finally, only on the new Africa Twin, there is the 'G' mode which, once activated via the appropriate button on the fairing, maximizes the performance of the DCT transmission off-road.

For 2016, there are 9 models in the Honda range available with DCT dual clutch transmission: CRF1000L Africa Twin, VFR1200F, Crosstourer, Integra, NM4 Vultus, NC750X, NC750S, CTX700 and CTX700N. In Europe, for models available as an option with DCT gearbox, customer preference was almost 50%. A result in line with forecasts and yet exceptional, also considering the purchase price differential. All the 2016 Honda innovations are on display at the Casa dell'Ala stand in pavilion 22 of Eicma, the Milan motorcycle show, where enthusiasts will also be able to admire an Africa Twin Adventure Sports concept, a tribute to the first legendary XRV650, and two splendid naked concept with 4-cylinder engine, one inspired by the scrambler world, the other by the café racer trend.
