An interesting event is scheduled this weekend in Misano. The town of Romagna, in fact, will be the venue for the new edition of National Trophy, who will see the Suter MMX500, the last GP 500 produced by the Swiss factory powered by Magigas 102 X.FLAME 2T fuel, to challenge the modern SBK 1000 4T.

National Trophy Misano: the race

In short, it will be a unique but certainly passionate duel with the two-strokes ready to give the four-strokes a run for their money while gathering, at the same time, polar opposite two-wheel lovers. The Suter MMX500, presented in September 2015 and already protagonist at the Tourist Trophy in 2016 and 2018 with Ian Lougher (British driver capable of winning the North West 200 nine times, the Ulster Grand Prix 18 and the TT 10 times) will be brought to the track for the occasion by the Italian Fabrizio Lai. The motorbike was produced by the Swiss company in just 99 examples and was put up for sale at a price exceeding 100.000 euros. It features a 4 cm576 electronic injection V3 engine capable of releasing 195 horsepower while weighing just 127 kilos. Naturally, for such a challenge there is no electronic control and the management of this monster of power is entrusted only to the pilot, his wrist and his courage.
