MV Augusta's best wishes to Giacomo Agostini

The legendary champion turns 80

Many successes and another milestone reached today. Giacomo Agostini performs 80 years and the family of MV Agusta sends him his best wishes.

A legendary champion

Fifteen world championship triumphs, a legendary record and a name linked to MV Agusta with which he achieved numerous successes. The legendary "Ago" has achieved several triumphs, told and recalled when talking about the history of motorcycling.
Timur Sardarov, CEO, MV Agusta Motor SpA, on this occasion sent happy birthday wishes on behalf of the Varese brand, underlining that Agostini: “He remains a model and a source of inspiration for everyone. Thank you, Giacomo, for being “Ago”, and for everything you have given, and continue to give, to MV Agusta and the world of motorcycles.”
A name also recalled with the new and exclusive one MV Agusta Superveloce Ago, made in 311 specimens. The same number of race victories achieved by Agostini. The first 15 are dedicated, in turn, to the world titles won by the champion.

This sports car, characterized by a retro style and functional technological systems, is equipped with a trellis frame made of steel tubes and aluminum plates, to which adjustable Öhlins suspensions are linked.
The livery is made up of a combination of red and matt gray and is enriched by yellow number plates on which the number 1 appears. The same color also returns when looking at the front headlight. The combination recalls the historic livery of the 500 model with which Agostini raced in the 70s. Furthermore, there is a numbered carbon fiber plate at the height of the fuel cap.
The model's wheelbase extends for 1.380 millimeters and the seat is 830 mm high. It features a Brembo braking system consisting of a dual 320mm floating disc at the front with four-piston calipers and a single 220mm disc at the rear with a two-piston caliper.
The propulsive heart is a unit a three cylinders da 798 cc Euro 5 approved. The power reaches 147 horses at 13.000 rpm which can rise to 151 horsepower by adopting a Racing Kit at a speed of 13.250 rpm. They are then reported 88 Nm of torque at 10.100 rpm.
The dry weight amounts to 173 kg, a value that can be kept at 165 kg with the optional Racing Kit, already mentioned, which includes: dedicated Map ECU, single-seater configuration and Arrow exhaust system.
