MV Agusta unveils two new products at EICMA 2023: LXP Orioli and Superveloce 1000 Serie Oro [PHOTO]

At EICMA 2023 MV Agusta carves out a leading role by revealing a preview of two new products that project the brand into the upper premium segment. The two new models are the new LXP Orioli, an all-terrain that combines luxury, performance and advanced features and which will be produced in a limited series of just 500 units, and the Superfast 1000 Gold Series, another novelty full of style and charm that will be marketed in 2024.

To complete MV Agusta's presence at EICMA there are also the famous limited series Rush, Brutale 1000 RR Assen, Superveloce 98 and Dragster RR SCS America, the latter created exclusively for the North American market.

The MV Agusta LXP Orioli, defined as the world's first luxury all-terrain motorcycle, is a tribute to an Italian motorcycling legend, Ed Orioli, which in the 90s, wearing the iconic Lucky Explorer colors – green, red and white – became a symbol of adventure motorcycling. Each of the 500 units produced, in addition to being numbered, will be personally signed by Edi Orioli, further helping to make it a collector's item.

Motor

The LXP Orioli is powered by a new 931 cc three-cylinder engine, entirely developed in Varese, which weighs only 57 kg and develops 124 CV of power at 10.000 rpm e 102 Nm of maximum torque at 7.000 rpm, with a specific power of 133 HP/litre and 85% of the torque available at just 3.000 rpm. The engine has a completely new crankcase, lubrication and cooling systems, while the crank mechanism, starter and gearbox, the latter removable, have been completely revised. 

Electronics

On the electronics front, the MV Agusta LXP Orioli can count on a particularly advanced 6-axis inertial platform, which interfaces with the on-board electronics, consisting of the engine management control unit equipped with a high-frequency microprocessor. The Full Ride by Wire it is based on couple management strategies; the available maps are Urban, Touring, Off-Road and Custom All-Terrain, specially developed to guarantee suitable delivery and ideal electronic control adjustment in different action contexts. The bike also features traction control, disengageable, with 5 levels of intervention for on-road use, 2 developed for off-road use and a Rain mode to guarantee maximum safety even in adverse driving conditions. The engine braking has two levels, independent in adjustment with respect to the chosen Riding Mode: level 1 is with reduced engine braking, level 2 is with full engine braking.

Also updatedABS cornering, now with RLM (Rear Wheel Lift-Up Mitigation) functionality, and optimized for off-road driving. The system ABS it was developed to perform best with both knobby and road tyres. The throttle control has a negative stroke, which increases the driving feeling and allows the deactivation of the cruise control to be managed gradually. 

The instrumentation of the LXP Orioli, which includes 7 inch TFT HD color screen with adjustable brightness, it offers connectivity via Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, as well as integration with the MV Ride app which allows you to set navigation, save itineraries and driving data via smartphone. The bike's standard equipment also includes a full LED front and rear lighting system and LED backlit handlebar controls.

Developed on a perimeter frame in lightweight alloy, the motorbike has Sachs swingarm in adjustable aluminum alloy in all functions: compression, rebound and spring preload, with 210 mm wheel travel; the adjustable Sachs monoshock guarantees 210 mm of travel to the wheel and is connected to the suspension via a progressive link.

The saddle is height adjustable to two positions (850 mm and 870 mm), to adapt to different contexts and riders. The ground clearance is 230 mm, ideal for tackling the dangers of off-road driving. The wheelbase is 1.610 mm; the diameter of the wheels remains typical of enduros with an off-road vocation, with a 21" front wheel and an 18" rear wheel. The motorcycle is approved for use with both road and knobby tires produced by Bridgestone. The brakes are supplied by Brembo, with front Stylema calipers on 320 mm diameter discs and double-piston caliper with 265 mm disc at the rear.

The MV Agusta LXP Orioli is characterized by a off-road look underlined by the presence of protection bars, aluminum skid plate and additional headlights. The bike comes standard with Bridgestone Battlax AX41 tyres which wrap around tubeless rims equipped with hubs machined from solid. The standard equipment also includes rigid aluminum side cases, as well as a kit that includes: approved titanium exhaust, carbon fiber end cap and heat shield, motorcycle cover and certificate of authenticity. 

Style

On an aesthetic level, the LXP Orioli stands out for the elegant Pearly White color on the fairings and front mudguard, while some details show the colors of the historic sponsor with an Edi Orioli dominated the rally scene in the 90s. The central part of the bike, however, is Carbon-Metallic Black, as is most of the saddle, on which the white of the fairings is repeated on the sides. The 500 units of the LXP Orioli will begin to be delivered to customers at the end of the first quarter of 2024.

MV Agusta Superveloce 1000 Gold Series

Another novelty presented at EICMA is the definitive version of the MV Agusta Superveloce 1000 Gold Series which will be marketed in the third quarter of next year. The motorcycle, which will be produced in a limited series and assembled by hand in the historic Schiranna factory, integrates the evolution of MV Agusta's aesthetic stylistic features, projecting them into a new dimension of elegance and sportiness.
