One of the two examples introduced at EICMA 2021

The passion for rally raids and for the historic Paris-Dakar challenge drives and fuels the Lucky Explorer Project, recently launched by MV Agusta. Lucky Explorer Project 5.5 represents an example of this initiative. Together with Lucky Explorer Project 9.5, this specimen is visible at EICMA, the International Two-Wheel Exhibition accessible to visitors from 25 to 28 November 2021.

Lucky Explorer Project 5.5

The 5.5 model, created with partner QJ, is an exploration specimen that brings to mind the historic one Elephant. Despite being a medium size, this bike seems to have a larger displacement. It is a model designed to travel and tackle challenging terrain.
The design between 5.5 and 9.5 is different, carefully observing details and aesthetic elements including the superstructures and the light pattern proposed by the specifically defined optical groups. From a conceptual point of view, both models are inspired by and recall the legendary challenge in the desert, but the 5.5 is also distinguishable by numerous peculiarities compared to the 9.5, thus being aesthetically and conceptually distinctive.
The reported length is 2.220 millimeters with a wheelbase that extends for 1.505 mm, the maximum width is 915 mm. The saddle is placed at a height of 860 mm.
The collaboration with the partner has allowed us to shape an innovative model in various aspects, considering the cycling part, the electronics and the mechanics, all aspects created considering dedicated specifications. For example, the electronic part is optimized to convey performance and safety at the same time.
