MV Agusta – The family of the racing department of MV Agusta it's getting larger. The Varese company, in fact, has just presented the MV Agusta Dragster 800 RC. Built on the basis of the Dragster RR, the newcomer is aimed at an expert public, passionate about elegant lines, but above all about very high performance motorcycles thanks to the many technical solutions derived directly from the track.

The engine is a three-cylinder in-line capable of developing a power of 140 hp at 13100 rpm, pure sports numbers, like its sound, high-pitched and hoarse at the same time, exasperated by the splendid three-element exhaust terminal, designed to achieve record performance for the category. The engine, thanks to its extremely rational design, weighs only 52 kg; uses the racing-derived counter-rotating crankshaft to reduce inertia when entering corners, giving the Dragster RC a unique driving dynamic, which definitively surpasses the basic idea of ​​vehicles, namely dragsters, created to obtain only the best acceleration in a straight line.

The digital instrumentation (Motor&Vehicle Integrated Control System) constitutes the ideal point of contact between rider and motorbike. Reading the data is simple and everything is under control thanks to the numerous lights on the LCD panel. Based on the electronic control unit designed directly and exclusively for MV Agusta, this Motor&Vehicle Integrated Control System allows you to exploit the Dragster 800 RC in four configurations, which tell of his changing and restless character. One of these is defined directly by the driver, parameter by parameter: engine response, rev limiter, engine torque management, sensitivity of the throttle control and engine braking. Indispensable for departures is the Quickshifter EAS 2.0: from one gear to another, uphill or downhill, without even a moment's hesitation. The eight-level traction control, which can be deactivated, allows you to choose the thrill of the smoking wheel or the tranquility of integral electronic management.

The abundance of carbon fiber components, which make the Dragster 800 RC an example of artisanal manufacturing carried into series production, are inevitable for a vehicle that does not ignore the lightness and charm of the materials. The front mudguard, the hot air outlet panels from the radiator, the panel that acts as a compact fairing, together with the splendid RC forged wheels, very light and with an unquestionably racing design, outline a picture of technical excellence and attention to detail. Which is also evident from the red anodized finish of the fully adjustable upside-down fork sliders.

Sweaves the possibility of intervention on the Sachs shock absorber, which completes the rear suspension centered on the single-sided swing arm with fulcrum in the aluminum alloy plates of the mixed structure frame. The braking system with 320 mm Brembo front discs and 4-piston radial calipers offers immediate decelerations, as well as easy and extensive control management. Produced in just 350 units, the Dragster 800 RC unleashes its 140 hp of power to the ground through the spectacular 200 hp rear tire.
