Il Piaggio Museum hosts the temporary exhibition “From the sea to the sea” which represents a tribute dedicated by Piaggio Group to the Marina Militare. A visible photographic exposure from March 14th to August 27th.

The news

Il Piaggio Museum, inaugurated in 2000 and renovated in 2018, was created to tell the story of the Piaggio Group and over time has become a point of reference for enthusiasts. Together with the five permanent collections, visible over an area of 5.000 m2, there are also five temporary exhibitions which allow the structure to constantly vary the cultural offering, ranging between art, scientific dissemination, fashion and technology.

The methods for accessing the exhibition are the same as those that allow entry to the Museum and for any updates it is possible to consult the Piaggio Museum web portal.
The new exhibition, inaugurated in Pontedera on Monday 13 March, provides 24 fotografie taken by Massimo Sestini, one of the most famous Italian photojournalists who has been narrating the history of Italian customs, politics and society for more than forty years. The shots project us into the heart of the activity carried out by the women and men of the Navy, paying tribute to their work and highlighting their values.

Together with the photographs, the same thing stands out exhibition setup, placed on large backlit panels, developed also thanks to the contribution of the Municipality of Livorno. The setup highlights and broadens the immersive experience in these shots, thanks to a large format and the reproduction of the sounds of the sea.

It is also possible to walk on the gigantic aerial photo of the Giuliano Prini submarine, photographed as it resurfaces. Also interesting is the visit to the room dedicated to projections where there are a series of films made by Sestini himself during the collaboration with the Navy. Among these, one is dedicated to the Amerigo Vespucci Training Ship.

The exclusive example is also visible Moto Guzzi V100 Mandello Naval Aviation, the limited edition developed in solo 1913 numbered copies and shown as a world premiere last year on the flight deck of the Cavour aircraft carrier. An example that highlights the historic union that unites the Moto Guzzi brand and the Naval Aviation of the Navy.
