Motorcycle Live 2013: Prince William visits the Ducati stand

The Duke of Cambridge does not hide his passion for "Redheads"

It is a Ducati in royal guise that welcomed Prince William, Duke of Cambridge, last Saturday on his official visit to the Motorcycle Live show in Birmingham, where he was special guest at the Ducati stand. Tim Maccabee, CEO of Ducati UK Ltd, welcomed the illustrious representative of the Royal House and presented him with the new one Ducati Monster 1200 and Ducati Diavel, which the Prince - who has never hidden his passion for the "Borgo Panigale Reds" - wanted to ride to test the ergonomics and riding position.

Also during his visit to the Ducati stand, Prince William, met former British National Superbike Champion, Shane Byrne with whom he wanted to exchange a few words and get some riding advice, obviously on the Ducati theme.
The Duke of Cambridge also wanted to see the new one up close Ducati 1199 Superleggera, making its debut in the United Kingdom during this important show. The model, available in a limited edition of just 500 units, represents the most exclusive and coveted Ducati of the entire range and, thanks to the magnesium, carbon and titanium components, boasts the highest power/weight ratio of any other motorcycle ever built.

“It was a great pleasure and a real honor to welcome His Royal Highness Prince William to our stand,” commented Tim Maccabee. «He was very interested, and got on several models from the range on display, being pleasantly impressed by the driving position of the new Monster and the Diavel. Naturally the Ducati that fascinated him most was the 1199 Superleggera, for which he showed great interest and admiration."
To conclude the visit, the Prince focused on the Ducati 899 Panigale which will compete in the Ducati TriOptions Cup series, scheduled among the 'support races' surrounding the British Superbike Championship in 2014.
