Motor Bike Expo 2014 – BMW Motorrad with Nine T and Ninety…

BMW Motorrad presents itself at the Motor Bike Expo in Verona with a stand entirely dedicated to the new one BMW R nineT, the motorbike that celebrates i 90 years of BMW Motorrad, and the “one-off” BMW Concept Ninety, the motorcycle that also pays homage to the 40th anniversary of the BMW R 90 S icon.

For over 90 years, BMW Motorrad has been committed to keeping alive what for many is one of their greatest passions: motorbikes. On the occasion of the 90th anniversary of the birth of BMW Motorrad, the BMW R nineT was presented, a motorcycle that brings together brand values and summarizes the company's history in a unique concept, composed of pure driving pleasure and a classic design, reduced to the essential, but at the same time unprecedented.

By presenting the R nineT, BMW Motorrad is taking into account the wish of many motorcycling enthusiasts to be able to modify the bike according to their imagination and creativity, based on personal taste and use. For this reason the new BMW R nineT is not only equipped with a particularly sophisticated concept that facilitates the possibility of modifying it according to personal taste: the motorcycle is equipped with numerous technical solutions which allow you to mount elements from the wide range of original BMW Motorrad accessories, but also to carry out other types of modifications.

The frame is made of steel developed specifically for the nineT, it integrates the engine Boxer as a carrier. The basic frame construction always consists of a front section with integrated steering head and a rear section with swing arm support.
The BMW R nineT is powered by the proven air/oil-cooled 4-stroke twin-cylinder boxer engine. The engine delivers 81 kW (110 hp) at 7750 rpm and develops a maximum torque of 119 Nm at 6000 rpm.

To pay homage to the 90th anniversary of BMW Motorrad and 40 years of the BMW R 90 S, an icon of BMW Motorrad design, the BMW Group presented a very special model at the Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este 2013: the BMW Concept Ninety. In collaboration with the custom motorcycle company Roland Sands Design, the BMW Motorrad design team has created an exclusive homage to the BMW R 90 S.

The BMW Concept Ninety revives the spirit of an emotionally charged superbike, transferring the emotion and inspiration of old model in a contemporary form. The BMW Concept Ninety stands out as a sporty boxer bike with a host of sophisticated details. Its basic proportions originate from the ancestor that inspired this concept: the fairing, the tank, the seat and the tail immediately indicate the family bond with the BMW R 90 S.

The distinctive characteristics of the two motorbikes, tradition, essentiality and authenticity, will also be recalled by the BMW Motorrad Style Vintage clothing line. Inspired by motorcycle clubs and the workshop look, the collection offers enthusiasts original clothing and cool accessories brought together under the motto “Bayerische Motorenwerke seit 1923”.
