Moto Morini Seiemmezzo: the right compromise between substance and simplicity

Harmonious lines on a modern base at a competitive price

Moto Morini Seiemmezzo – Entering the world of two wheels is increasingly difficult. Motorcycles are increasingly expensive and refined. Often you are forced to have luxury that you are unable to appreciate or do not seek on your motorbike, perhaps your first. Morini for its two medium-sized naked bikes it aims for the essence, thus obtaining an excellent result within everyone's reach.

Aesthetics

Moto Morini Seiemmezzo

The Morini Seiemmezzo blends in among the many naked bikes on the market, it must be seen up close to discover all its best details. The frame is made of black trellis, this gives a uniform and neutral base which highlights the most refined features of the tank (16l) and the aluminum parts. Minimal mudguard, black fork and round LED headlight characterize the front end of the Seiemmezzo, a small windscreen connects the front light with the 5 inch TFT screen. There are three colors available that distinguish the tank and mudguard: anthracite grey, pearl white and red. The tank, which stands out on the all-black base of the bike, is comfortable but less hospitable for taller riders.

La saddle it is well designed, the padding is right and the passenger is placed at the right level compared to the driver. The rear light is integrated into the tail which has been deprived of the aesthetic heaviness of the license plate holder. The twin-cylinder, the beating heart of this Morini, is connected to the rear wheel via an aluminum swingarm, also black. On the latter we find a license plate holder structure, which is successful because it is robust but light to the eye. Overall the design is clean and without too many frills. The flat base is enriched with two touches of color and satin components that stand out, winking at enthusiasts looking for a modern but not flashy design.

Chassis and performance

Moto Morini Seiemmezzo

The Seiemmezzo is dressed in an Italian design contained in the essence of Moto Morini, to support all this we find a modest chassis that however does not envy its rivals. The weight total dry weight is 200kg. The central body is a tubular steel trellis, at the front this is coupled with a Kayaba branded 43mm upside down suspension. The fork is adjustable in preload, compression and rebound, which makes it satisfying for the most geeks and for those looking for ad hoc calibrations beyond the standard. THE circles they are black and in alloy, on the front we find 18" combined with a 120/70 Pirelli Angel GT tire. The rear tire is smaller and obviously wider, it is a 160" 60/17. The tire pressure can be displayed on the screen thanks to the sensors they are equipped with.

The engine is a twin-cylinder capable of delivering 61 hp at 8250 rpm. The torque peak occurs around 7000 rpm and encourages you to turn the knob without too many remorse. Braking is instead entrusted to a system designed in Italy by Brembo. At the front there is a pair of double-piston calipers that bite two 298mm discs while at the rear the disc is a single 255mm and the caliper always carries 2 pistons. The swingarm is made of aluminum and is supported by a Kayaba 'monoshok' shock absorber with adjustable spring preload and rebound damping.

Driving

Moto Morini Seiemmezzo

The Moto Morini Seiemmezzo seems to have been created to adapt to every type of riding and rider. The engine is cheerful, invites you to fully exploit it without putting even beginners in crisis. The riding position is upright and the handlebars have a correct bend that does not tire you. The front is not loaded excessively and this reiterates the sensation of agility transmitted. The 210kg curb weight is managed very well by the braking system combined with a Bosch ABS system which guarantees safety and tranquility even in the most extreme conditions. There clutch it is wire-controlled and offers a good compromise between robustness and modularity. In some circumstances the engine seems to be unprepared, so on this Seiemmezzo you always need to have the lever in hand to set the right ratio.

At high speeds, the upright position and the lack of a windshield make this Moto Morini road naked bike more tiring, but despite this being the flaw in the entire segment, the Morini defends itself. Excellent on-board computer which, in addition to being combinable with your smartphone, contains a lot of useful information for monitoring the status of the vehicle even during the journey. Engine temperature, tire pressure and battery voltage can be conveniently displayed in the menus on the front screen, navigation is managed by the backlit push-button panels on the control blocks. Overall, the Seiemmezzo satisfied us, it represents a modest mix of substance and fun all enclosed by an Italian design. Only one full optional version is available, its cost is 6990 € ex dealer. The only possible choice concerns the engine power, you can in fact request the weakened version for an A2 licence.
