Moto Guzzi - TheOpen House 2018, which animated the historic Mandello del Lario factory over the weekend from 7 to 9 September, was the venue for the launch of the new Moto Guzzi V9 Bobber Sport.

Moto Guzzi V9 Bobber Sport: how it's made

The new Moto Guzzi V9 Bobber Sport is the sports custom that gave life to the medium displacement bobber segment. It is a motorbike with a unique personality, essential in shape and with an aesthetic marked by numerous total black details and large oversized tyres, just like those mounted by the riders who gave life to the bobber phenomenon in the States after the Second World War, challenging themselves on fast dirt tracks joke. And it is precisely from this authentic "racing" origin that the new Moto Guzzi V9 Bobber Sport special series is inspired, with a decidedly mean look and revealing the sportier side of its character. The new V9 Bobber Sport stands out for its lowered solo seat, which combined with the usual low drag bar handlebar supported by shorter risers, leads to a more accentuated "low ride", collected and sporty riding position. The Öhlins shock absorbers with adjustable spring preload and hydraulic rebound and compression amplify driving pleasure and improve handling, as well as ensuring better ability to deal with small bumps and at the same time greater control when driving fast. The unmistakable sound of the Moto Guzzi 850 twin-cylinder is underlined by the approved slip-on exhausts painted in matt black and with an aluminum end cap and characterized, in the terminal part, by a slender oblique shape.

The special dedicated colour, a new and bold orange, covers the tank - with the Moto Guzzi eagle created in a particular burnished finish - and also extends to the aluminum side panels, thus blending in with the typical total matt black look of the V9 Bobber. The dark shades here are extended to other details such as the engine cooling fins, the billet aluminum fuel cap, the front headlight frame and the instrument panel graphics. Other specific measures give the front of the new Moto Guzzi V9 Bobber Sport an even more gritty and muscular presence: the front mudguard has been appropriately shortened, while the low-positioned headlight is wrapped in a tapered black aluminum fairing. Finally, the fork legs are protected by classic rubber bellows.
