Moto Guzzi V85 TT – Despite the almost centenary history of the company, Moto Guzzi always has its eyes firmly fixed on the future and with this in mind the Moto Guzzi V85 TT was born, designed around an entirely new engine and to provide an experience of new driving for historic lovers of the Mandello del Lario brand and for those approaching these vehicles for the first time.

Moto Guzzi V85 TT: how it's made

The V85 TT reflects the best tradition of Moto Guzzi, above all in respect of values such as authenticity. The real innovation, however, lies in the engine which guarantees driveability and lots of fun. It is the motorcycle that the Italian company was missing, dedicated to travel with references to the models that made the history of the raids of the 80s. In short, the V85 TT is a classic enduro with a design that represents the meeting point between technology and functionality with a classically Moto Guzzi style, designed to last over time so as to define the V85 TT as the classic enduro dedicated to tourism. Proportioned in dimensions that are anything but prohibitive, accessible to riders of all caliber and experience, narrow at the waist to leave freedom of movement, the V85 TT boasts optimal accommodation for rider and passenger. No compromise has been made to the detriment of comfort and habitability, the result is a comfortable motorcycle for two, with the panniers installed on the frame structure. The design of the tank is a reference to the tradition of Moto Guzzis set up for African raids. Also in line with Guzzi history are the high front mudguard and the beautiful double front headlight, stylistic/functional solutions already present on the 650 NTX 1996 and the 1000 Quota 1989. Modern technological elements - such as the completely digital instrumentation and the series of LED DRL lights on the front headlight – thus combining with highly classic stylistic features from the off-road world.

The frame is completely new; pursuing the objectives of lightness, rationality and accessibility, it is made of steel tubes and exploits the particular anchoring of the engine to create a rigid structure which on the one hand restores precision and rigor on the road and on the other robustness and the right feeling in off-road driving . The asymmetrical aluminum swingarm features a curved arm on the left side, useful for designing a very linear flow of the exhaust pipe, in order to reduce the lateral dimensions as much as possible. The right arm of the swingarm instead houses the new cardan transmission. The monoshock directly connects the frame to the right arm of the swingarm, a solution that facilitates access to the hydraulic and spring preload adjustments, freeing up space for the layout of the exhaust system. The suspensions offer very generous wheel travel for satisfactory off-road use, also thanks to the high ground clearance of the engine, as well as guaranteeing comfort on the most common roads.

Moto Guzzi V85 TT: a completely new heart

A new Moto Guzzi engine makes its debut on the V85 TT. The construction scheme is the proprietary and exclusive one of all Moto Guzzi models in current production: it is in fact an 90 cc air-cooled transverse V-twin of 850° which expresses 80 HP of power. It is an engine which, in full Moto Guzzi philosophy, is a candidate to be a classic in the near future, ensuring rewarding performance on every route, as well as guaranteeing great character and the usual spectacular kick right from low revs. The technical platform of the V85 TT, including its mechanics - as always enhanced within the body of the vehicle, being deliberately left exposed in all its beauty - represents the technical basis for the development of a series of new motorcycles. A family of medium displacements, with different intended uses, sharing a strong character, generous performance and typically Moto Guzzi style.

Moto Guzzi V85 TT: from the lake to off-road

Moto Guzzi, in reality, boasts a solid off-road tradition: the first successes came at the 1939 Six Days of Regularity held in Austria, where Moto Guzzi participated with the GT 20, winning four gold medals. The real season of regularity continued in 1957, with the Lodola Regolarità and then with the Stornello Regolarità in 1962. Strengthened by this tradition, Moto Guzzi faced the Paris-Dakar in 1985 with the V65 Baja and the following year with the V75 Baja , strictly derived from the series models, appreciated for their lightness and the characteristics of the high-performance and reliable engine. The V85 TT is dedicated to those who, while never ceasing to dream of Dakar, aspire to a motorbike that restores the spirit of adventure to their daily journeys. Moto Guzzi prefigures a modern motorcycle, complete in equipment and with a strong character, but also a pure and essential motorcycle with shapes that arise directly from Moto Guzzi history.
