La classic enduro Moto Guzzi V85 TT it shows character even off-road. This was noticed during tests 5 and 6 of Italian Motorally Championship of 10 and 11 July in Pellegrino Parmense. Historians are also protagonists Moto Guzzi preparators Gianfranco and Vittoriano Guareschi, already known for the transformation of the V7 III into the Moto Guzzi Fast Endurance Trophy which became the European Cup.

The news

La Moto Guzzi V85 TT Rally by Gcorse, driven by the young driver Francesco Montanari and making his debut in this type of competition and in a championship featuring the best Italian drivers involved in rally raids, showed consistent temperament up to the finish line of both races, allowing him to gain an eighth and a ninth place. Two good placings, taking into account the debut in this type of commitments.

A journey into the off road world that has just begun, given that in a new version further evolved and named by the Guareschi V85 TT Baja, the example by GCorse will also be present at the Scrambler Trophy, Maxienduro class, scheduled for Guastalla on 28 and 29 August. A commitment that will serve as a test in view of the last stage of the Italian Motorally Championship scheduled in Spoleto from 16 to 18 September. This example, further modified, is equipped with suspensions with greater travel and rims with more cross-oriented sizes of 21 and 18 inches, compared to the 19 and 17 inch ones present as standard.

Returning to the debut in the Motorally Championship, it is a decidedly good result where the concreteness and reliability of the Moto Guzzi V85 TT still emerge. Some targeted modifications have allowed the bike to compete with more specialized bikes. The interventions of the Guareschi brothers focused above all on protections, adopting a large underpan/engine guard and aluminum hand guards, then the inclusion of a straighter cross-style saddle and a castle to hold roadbooks and tripmasters.

From a technical point of view, Andreani fork cartridges and a specially created Öhlins monoshock were inserted, two 290 mm Biting Performance brake discs in front with reduced track, to mitigate possible problems with rocks, furthermore the exhaust was replaced with a Zard in titanium. Present original rims and Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR tires with mousse.
