Distinctive design and a liquid-cooled V2 heart

Moto Guzzi V100 Mandello: a new travel experienceMoto Guzzi V100 Mandello: a new travel experience

Moto Guzzi V100 Mandello it is a new result from the historic motorcycle brand. Exemplary protagonist during the Moto Guzzi Days scheduled this month March.

Two variants and another exclusive proposal

Moto Guzzi V100 Mandello it already includes various solutions as standard such as a full LED lighting system with DRL, the innovative and distinctive adaptive aerodynamics system, other electronic systems and mechanically adjustable Kayaba suspensions. The colors are combined with this Polar White o Rosso magma with golden and matte rims.
While the variant Moto Guzzi V100 Mandello S it features equipment that also includes heated grips, Öhlins Smart EC 2.0 semi-active suspension, a TPMS tire pressure indicator, Moto Guzzi MIA connectivity system and quick shift. It can dress the colors Green 2121 o Avant-garde Grey, now available, with rims painted in matt black.
The range of accessories that can be combined is varied, opting between solutions for transport or others designed to highlight the qualities and comfort of each motorbike.
Furthermore, online prebooking for the exclusive will begin this month Moto Guzzi V100 Naval Aviation, made in a limited and numbered series of 1913 units and recognizable by a dedicated livery and a laser engraving of the serial number on the handlebar riser. A motorcycle available in April at the price of 16.999 euros fc, as recently reported.

Technical aspects

Sinuous lines and more sculpted features characterize the design of the model, which in turn is enlivened by the luminous DRL motif which recalls the symbol of the eagle with spread wings. Equally distinctive is the shape of the light clusters in the rear area which recalls that of the afterburners of aeronautical engines.
The fairing is electrically adjustable via a button on the left electrical block, with a maximum range of 90 millimetres. Operation is independent of the four Riding Modes Tourism, Rain, Street e Sport, to give the driver the opportunity to manage it based on the needs and height of the motorcyclist. For each Riding Mode there is management of three different engine maps, two levels of engine braking, four levels of traction control, the opening of the side deflectors and, considering the Moto Guzzi V100 Mandello S, also the calibration of the Öhlins semi-active suspensions Smart EC 2.0.

Among the solutions we also mention the "bending lights", a pair of additional headlights in the parabolas that illuminate the inside of the curve to support visibility when leaning, together with digital instrumentation on a five-inch color TFT screen and a cruise system control. The electronic equipment includes a six-axis inertial platform which allows optimal use of the Cornering ABS developed in collaboration with Continental, a Marelli 11MP control unit and a Ride by wire electronic accelerator.
Among the technological features, theadaptive aerodynamics, a sophisticated solution that facilitates comfort and protection.

The fairing, as mentioned, can be operated electrically and the open deflectors reduce air pressure by 22%, according to information. A result derived from hundreds of hours of work between simulations with CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) calculation software and sessions in the wind tunnel, as well as road tuning.
The opening threshold of the side deflectors can also be managed at a speed other than the set 70 km/h, within a range between 30 and 95 km/h. Automatic closing occurs when the speed decreases by 20 km/h below the opening threshold, avoiding, for example, constant opening and closing in traffic.

Motor

The proposal Moto Guzzi V100 Mandello it is powered by a new 1.042 cc "compact block" engine. A transverse 90° V-twin with heads rotated 90 degrees, four valves per cylinder, double overhead camshaft distribution with chain-operated finger rockers and liquid cooling. The cardan shaft final transmission rests on an aluminum single-arm, present on the left side. The engine is combined with a six-speed gearbox with patented technology of the first two gears with reduced clearances, already used on the V85 TT.
The power reaches i 115 horses at 8.700 rpm and the torque is 105 Nm at 6.750 rpm, 82% already proposed from 3.500 rpm.
