The electronic solutions linked to the new Moto Guzzi V100 Mandello are described in the video proposed by Moto Guzzi Official, on YouTube, after the videos dedicated to technique and style.

Technological systems

Piero Soatti, head of Moto Guzzi Engineering, summarizes and describes the electronic part of the new one Moto Guzzi V100 Mandello, a model that represents a sort of conjunction between the roadster and sport-touring segments.
One of the main technological peculiarities is theadaptive aerodynamics, a sophisticated solution that promotes comfort and protection.
The windshield is electrically adjustable and the open deflectors reduce air pressure by 22%, bringing the model closer to the protection offered by the most voluminous tourers. A result obtained through hundreds of hours of work between simulations with CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) calculation software and wind tunnel sessions, as well as road tuning.
The opening threshold of the side deflectors can also be managed at a speed other than the set 70 km/h, within a range that ranges between 30 and 95 km/h. Automatic closing occurs when the speed decreases by 20 km/h below the opening threshold, avoiding continuous opening and closing in traffic.
Protection from the air is completed by the electrically adjustable fairing, via a convenient button on the left electrical block, raising the element along a maximum range of 90 millimetres. Operation is independent of the four Riding Modes, to give the motorcyclist the opportunity to manage it based on their height and needs.
The varied electronic equipment also includes an electronic accelerator Ride by wire a Marelli 11MP control unit and six-axis inertial platform which allows you to make the most of the Cornering ABS, developed in collaboration with Continental. The system can optimize braking and ABS intervention when cornering using a specific algorithm.
Il LED headlight cluster with a DRL pattern is equally characteristic, as is the design of the exposed liquid-cooled engine, which contributes to making the compact, elegant and at the same time sporty appearance unique, also strengthened by the design of the rear light clusters which recalls the afterburners of aeronautical engines. Returning to full LED headlights with DRL, there are also some “bending lights”, a pair of additional headlights in the parabolas that illuminate the inside of the curve to support visibility when leaning. One of the solutions is also listed five-inch color TFT instruments to which it is possible to associate a Moto Guzzi MIA platform, a cruise control and a USB socket in the storage compartment under the passenger seat.
As already mentioned, i Riding Modes there are four: Tourism, Rain, Street e Sport. For each there is the management of three different engine maps, two levels of engine braking, four levels of traction control, the opening of the side deflectors and, in the case of the V100 Mandello S example, also the calibration of the semi-active Öhlins Smart suspensions EC 2.0.

Versions

The specimen Moto Guzzi V100 Mandello it is already equipped as standard with various solutions including the full LED lighting system with DRL, various electronic systems including adaptive aerodynamics and features mechanically adjustable Kayaba suspensions. The colors can be Polar White o Rosso magma, in any case with golden and matte colored rims.
La Moto Guzzi V100 Mandello S, however, features equipment with high-level technological solutions including heated grips, TPMS tire pressure indicator, Öhlins Smart EC 2.0 semi-active suspension, a quick shift system and the Moto Guzzi MIA connectivity solution. In this case the model is covered in Green 2121 or Avant-garde Grey, always with rims painted matt black.
The range of accessories is varied, opting between solutions for transport or to enhance the comfort and functionality offered by the motorbike.
Along with the versions mentioned there is also an exclusive Moto Guzzi V100 Mandello Naval Aviation, a limited and numbered series production of 1913 unit, covered with a dedicated livery and also characterized by a laser engraving of the serial number on the handlebar riser.

Motor

Together with the electronic solutions already mentioned, there is a new propulsive heart twin-cylinder “compact block”. di 1.042 cc with innovative features, such as a liquid cooling system. A 90° transverse V engine with heads rotated 90 degrees, four valves per cylinder and double overhead camshaft distribution with finger rockers controlled by a chain.
The cardan shaft final transmission rests on an aluminum single-sided swing arm, now present on the left side, furthermore the engine is combined with a six-speed gearbox with patented technology of the first two gears with reduced clearance, already used on the V85 TT. The power reaches altitude 115 horses at 8.700 rpm and torque 105 Nm at 6.750 rpm, 82% already available from 3.500 rpm with the limiter at 9.500 rpm, as mentioned.
