V85 features a renewed engine, chassis and mono-shock absorber which will also be adopted on other vehicles coming out soon

Moto Guzzi – A prototype that, in a year, will become reality. Moto Guzzi presents EICMA la Moto Guzzi V85, described by the Design Center Manager of the Piaggio Official Group, Marco Lambri: “With this model Guzzi inaugurates the enduro trend. It is a concrete vehicle, simple to use like those typical of the 80s and which goes well with our DNA. It is important to point out the presence of a new 80 horsepower engine, a new chassis as well as a single shock absorber. From this project other models will be born that will allow us to reach a new range of customers. We have covered that power hole in our range, entering the medium power sector that allows you to have fun and take long journeys. I don't rule out the possibility that there may also be a weakened version in the future."

The design of the Moto Guzzi V85 represents the meeting point between technology and functionality with a classically Moto Guzzi style, conceived to last over time so as to define the first Classic Enduro dedicated to tourism. Proportioned in dimensions that are anything but prohibitive, it is accessible for pilots of all caliber and experience and for their passenger. No compromise has been made to the detriment of comfort and habitability: the result is a motorcycle that is comfortable for two, with the panniers installed on the frame structure. The design of the tank is a reference to the tradition of Moto Guzzis set up for African raids. Also in line with the Guzzi history are the high front mudguard and the beautiful double front headlight. The fully digital instrumentation and the series of LED DRL lights on the front headlight are the extra something.

The frame is completely new: it is made of steel tubes and takes advantage of the particular anchoring of the engine to create a rigid structure that on the one hand provides precision and rigor on the road and on the other robustness and the right feeling in off-road driving. The beautiful asymmetrical aluminum swingarm features a curved arm on the left side, useful for designing a very linear flow of the exhaust pipe, in order to reduce the lateral dimensions as much as possible. The right arm of the swingarm instead houses the new cardan transmission. The monoshock directly connects the frame to the right arm of the swingarm, a solution that facilitates access to the hydraulic and spring preload adjustments, freeing up space for the layout of the exhaust system. The suspensions offer very generous wheel travel for satisfactory off-road use, also thanks to the high ground clearance of the engine, as well as guaranteeing comfort on the most common roads.
