A historic achievement

The symbol ofeagle with spread wings it has become iconic in the world, chosen by Carlo Guzzi and Giorgio Parodi also to remember their friend in arms Giovanni Ravelli. The three had been part of the Royal Navy Air Service and there they had thought about a future in the motorcycle sector. Ravelli unfortunately disappeared in 1919 during a test flight and, also to remember him, the other two opted for the eagle with spread wings.
One hundred years have passed since March 15, 1921. Then the “Moto Guzzi Anonymous Company” oriented: “The manufacture and sale of motorcycles and any other activity pertaining or connected to the metalworking industry”, as mentioned.
The operational headquarters of this long history remains the factory in Mandello del Lario. Plant from which models such as the legendary came out GT 500 Norge of 1928 driven by the founder's brother Giuseppe Guzzi up to the Arctic Circle, examples such as theHeron 250 of 1939 or the cockerel of 1950, a protagonist in post-war motorization. Also notable in the history of the brand is the creation of a wind tunnel, the first in the world in the motorcycle sector. A choice by the team in which great technicians such as Umberto Todero, Enrico Cantoni and the legendary Milanese designer Giulio Cesare Carcano worked, who designed the Otto Cilindri engine capable of reaching 285 km/h way back in 1955 and the prototypes with which between 1935 and 1957 14 world speed titles and 11 Tourist Trophies were won.
The engine is also iconic V-twin 90° 700 cc with cardan final transmission. A unit present on the V7 and other examples and which has become a connotative element of the production itself.
In the centenary year a special Centenario Livery was introduced and from 9 al September 12th are also expected GMG – Moto Guzzi World Days in Mandello del Lario.

A clue to something new coming soon?

The mysterious profile is less clear than that of the other production models present in the image. A detail that piques the attention. Just look to the right and down in the image proposed by Moto Guzzi. Considering what can be seen, it would appear to be a sporty naked bike with handlebars raised like the tail tending upwards and compact fairings that seem to wrap the chassis probably animated by the iconic Moto Guzzi twin-cylinder. Perhaps it could be a more powerful version of the new 850cc heart recently associated with the V7 range? Are we expecting another interesting news? At the moment it remains only a hypothesis, dutifully using the conditional.
