Good news for owners of vintage motorbikes: all FMI members, in fact, will be able to enjoy particularly advantageous conditions regarding the insurance coverage of motorbikes over 20 years old that are regularly registered in the Historical Register.

Discounted rate insurance for vintage motorbikes: how it works

The Italian Motorcycle Federation has made available a new motorcycle insurance with discounted rates for vintage motorcycles, i.e. those vehicles over 20 years old that are regularly registered in the Historical Register. These new policies provide solutions for both exclusive driving and free driving (persons other than the owner of the motorbike) and allow insurance costs to be drastically reduced. As regards the case of exclusive driving, in Northern Italy, the gross premium is 90 euros, as in Central Italy, while the figure rises to 110 for the South. For free driving, however, the rates are different. In the North, from one to three insured vehicles the total gross premium is 145 euros, from four to five vehicles the gross premium is 193 euros, from six to 10 vehicles the gross premium is 264 euros and from 11 to 20 vehicles the gross premium is of 330 euros. In the center of Central Italy: from one to three vehicles the gross premium is 156 euros, from four to five vehicles the gross premium is 205 euros, from six to 10 vehicles the gross premium is 276 euros and from 11 to 20 vehicles the gross premium is 342 euros. Finally, in the South, from one to three vehicles the gross premium is 191 euros, from four to five vehicles the gross premium is 239 euros, from six to 10 vehicles the gross premium is 310 euros and from 11 to 20 vehicles the premium gross is 376 euros. Furthermore, it should be remembered that the insurance for vintage motorbikes made available by the FMI does not provide any deductible in the event of an accident and has no limitations of any kind regarding drivers under 25 years of age.

The only conditions are to be a member of the FMI for the current year and that the motorbike is registered in the FMI historical register, as mentioned, but what is it? In reality, registration is quite simple, if the vehicle is suitable and in conditions that comply with the regulations established by the Federation. You can consult the website (www.federmoto.it), register for the current year, through a Moto Club or online (60 euros), send the documentation and photos of the motorbike and obtain the registration card in the register in just a few minutes. weeks (50 or 60 euros, depending on the type of motorbike - valid forever), all via the web and without leaving home.
