Changes in sight for those who from now on want to obtain a moped driving license. In fact, if until now the license was issued after passing the theoretical test, now you will need to be in possession of the pink slip, and only after passing the theoretical test will you be able to take the practical exam. Plus to take the driving test is at least one month must have passed from the date of obtaining the pink slip.

Therefore the practice of driving a moped was introduced by the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport through the law of 26 February 2011, although it will still be necessary to wait for a specific Ministerial Decree to establish the modalities. The innovation desired by the Ministry is aimed at making the roads safer by putting only young, not exactly inexperienced motorcyclists into circulation.

A part of the Ministerial Decree which establishes the novelty, awaiting another Ministerial Decree which establishes the modalities, states: "Pursuant to and for the purposes of Article 1, paragraph 1, and Table 1, with reference to the provision of referred to in article 17, paragraph 2, of law 29 July 2010, n. 120, by decree of the Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, to be issued within the same extension deadline referred to in Article 1, paragraph 1, the methods and procedures for requesting and issuing an authorization to the candidate to obtain the certificate of suitability to drive the moped, which allows the same to practice driving, after having passed the required knowledge check test".
