Taking up theArticle 75 from the published ordinary supplement n. 45/L to the Official Journal 304 of 30 December 2019, we note the equivalence to the velocipedes of electric scooters "which fall within the power and speed limits defined by the decree of the Minister of Infrastructure and Transport of 4 June 2019". Consequently it is possible to travel with these vehicles in Italian cities, always considering rules, signs and Highway Code.

The circulation

Il helmet results advised, not required. For other vehicles such as hoverboards and monowheels, however, the experimentation rules linked to the so-called Toninelli decree remain valid in the participating cities, as mentioned.
Returning to the electric scooters, of which the presence in Italy is estimated to exceed 100.000 specimens, the regulation provides for the circulation and use of vehicles that have a power equal to and not greater than 0,5 kW and a speed limiter, reaching a maximum of i 20 km/h, so the 6 km/h in pedestrian areas where it is possible to circulate. There are also areas that cannot be walked on because they are not very suitable, such as the preferential lanes next to tramways or surfaces paved with river stones, for example.
You can only drive in city areas, in the areas established by the Municipality through specific signs and drivers must be of age or have an AM licence. The same vehicles, then, must have lights and an acoustic signal, so during the evening hours, or in any case in low light conditions, drivers must wear reflective braces or jackets to highlight their presence, taking up the directions.
