The new "sport" is now added to the list touring” AK 550 (suspension, wheels and Brembo brakes with radial calipers give it a sporty aura). Let us briefly remember that it mounts a 550 cc twin-cylinder, eight valves, with double mapping and keyless starting centrally in the frame. As standard the scooter offers a brilliant ride but - as MIVV teaches - with a suitable exhaust system you can improve performance, add a touch of style and lower the standard weight of the vehicle (230 kg in running order). For the new Kymco, MIVV proposes two technical solutions: the sole replacement of the exhaust terminal (slip on), or the formula terminal + collectors + catalyst (full system 2 in 1). The user can choose between SPEED EDGE (Stainless or Black) and OVAL (Black or Titanium), all completed with a carbon cup. By quickly examining the data on the bench (measured at the wheel), significant increases in torque and power values ​​are found around the range from 4 to 5 thousand engine rpm. As for weight, you gain from 4 to 4,5 kg depending on the setup.

The manufacturer MIVV knows practically everything about the engine mounted on the T-MAX 530 range, having created exhausts starting from the 500 cc from the first version in 2001 and from the 530 cc starting from 2012. The 2017 version of the latter maintains the sporting soul that made the fortune of the range. Perhaps with a slight rounding in favor of driving comfort but always dynamically close to that of a motorbike. The CVT transmission changes, the final belt is now made of carbon fiber and in general there is more electronics. Interventions on the chassis have led to a lightening of 9 kg but even in this you can do even better by always and only replacing the exhaust system. For the T-Max 2017 MIVV offers exclusively complete systems (terminal + collectors + catalyst) made using the same versions of the SPEED EDGE and OVAL silencers proposed for the Kymco rival. In this case, the analysis of the bench data highlights maximum increases in power at medium-high engine rotation values; Furthermore, the amount of "pull" that the torque reaches around 3.000 rpm appears to be exciting. The MIVV exhaust lightens the general line of the vehicle from a visual and concrete point of view (thanks to 5,5 kg less than the original equipment).
