MiMoto – Move freely around the city, spending the bare minimum and without polluting. A dream for many Milanese. A dream that from today becomes reality thanks to MiMoto, the first service of Eco-sustainable eScooter sharing in the Lombardy capital.

Many guests were present at the presentation press conference. To do the honors of the house Marco Granelli, Councilor for Mobility and Environment of the Municipality of Milan: “I am very pleased to be here with this young company of young people launching a new initiative. The Municipality of Milan is very interested in improving the traffic and pollution situation in our city. We have changed a lot thanks to citizens and businesses. The significant thing is precisely the interaction between the Municipality and start-ups that help us improve traffic. The electric scooter is an innovative way of experiencing the city, excellent for achieving the objectives we have set ourselves. There is a desire on the part of the institutions to work together to accompany this development and enthuse our citizens".

The word then passes to Alessandro Vincenzi, Founder, CEO and Biz Dev. by MiMoto: “We haven't invented anything new, but we think that our project has something more than existing ones. Our vehicles are very small, light and slim electric scooters, also suitable for an often overlooked target such as women. Rental is very easy and takes place via app, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Furthermore, our scooter is Made in Italy. Among the cornerstones of MiMoto are eco-sustainability and the fact of aiming for integrated mobility given that this is a service integrated with the public one".

More details on using MiMoto provides them Vittorio Murature, Founder, CEO and CEO of the company: “Ours is an economical sharing service, practical because it is within reach of an app, eco-sustainable, user friendly and quick because it is within everyone's reach. The scooter is approved for two people, inside the case it contains two helmets and among the most convenient aspects is the fact of not being tied to fixed stations for release. We chose a scooter with removable batteries, very practical, but the customer will never have to worry about charging. Our technicians will take care of replacing the flat batteries. You do everything with your smartphone: you book, you log in, you turn it off, you open the trunk".

Finally, word to Gianluca Iorio, Founder and CEO of MiMoto to explain the economic aspects of the operation: “We have chosen to operate in the 90-91 ring road area and in some points of interest including universities because students often need this type of service. We contacted all the world's manufacturers of electric scooters, in the end we chose Askoll of Vicenza which has been producing electric bikes and scooters for three years. Our vehicle can be driven with a B license, but we want customers to be of age to have greater awareness when on the road. How much does it cost? The price is 23 euro cents per minute, very competitive compared to other players. Parking is 9 cents. Furthermore. there will be agreements for university students. We have also thought of a flat hourly rate of 6.90 euros, with half an hour which is effectively free. The daily flat rate is also convenient and costs only 29.90 euros".

MiMoto's initial fleet will be 100 scooters, but the goal is 500 within the first year of work. Activation of the service costs 9.90 euros with one hour of free service. The autonomy varies between 50 and 60 km and below 12% of the charge (about 6 km, the average distance of the city journey) the scooter will not be available. The app itself will indicate the battery autonomy status converted into kilometres.

The service will be active on the streets of Milan starting from Saturday.
