Milwaukee Eight – A new Harley-Davidson engine is on the way. At least that's what a couple of photos released online depicting the new unit seem to say. We will find out much more in August when the American brand presents its new Touring range. The new engine called Milwaukee Eight will be 107 cubic inches (1.753 cc). The name was registered two years ago. Eight, in particular, represents both the chronological number of Harley V2s and the number of valves.

Before him, the V-Rod engine also had four valves per cylinder. The Milwaukke Eight, though, would be something different. Something that embodies the Harley spirit more. The new engine will be air cooled and the distribution will still be controlled by rods and rocker arms. It will not use the overhead camshafts but stores them in the crankcase and moves the rocker arms with rods. For lovers of technology, we would like to remind you that we will most likely switch to three camshafts, like the latest Indian ones. It should also have dual ignition.

As reported by Motorlands, the Milwaukke Eight will be respectful of the Euro4 legislation, mandatory since 2017. It could debut on the Touring series, instead of the 103", which will be presented to the press in September. We'll see if the American brand will confirm the arrival of the new twin-cylinder. A unit that could give a lot of satisfaction to Harley-Davidson and all its many enthusiasts.
