Milan, sharing and micromobility: new rules, scooters circulating since December

Three resolutions to allow the circulation, after the interruption last July in view of a regulatory. From December the return to the streets of Milan is expected scooters for hire, according to what emerged. We talk about 2.000 means at most.

Announcement and new rules

Going back to what was reported during the presentation of the resolutions, a ceiling of 2.000 scooters is indicated for circulation in the city, as mentioned, in batches of 500 to 750 vehicles. It's expected within 15 days a notice addressed to companies interested in the rental service. An inspection is scheduled by 15th November for the presentation of potential lots, envisaging the circulation of vehicles from December in the areas indicated by the specific signs.
Traffic in the city is permitted in the marked areas “Zone 30”, its cycle paths e cycle and pedestrian paths, maintaining a maximum speed of 6 km/h, according to what emerged. Therefore, the possibility of traveling along the asphalted sections within the parks also appears in the future. As in the case of bicycles, circulation on sidewalks is prohibited. Furthermore, the road rules for example, avoiding traveling in the opposite direction, always respecting the traffic lights and driving on the right. Sudden changes in trajectory while driving are not permitted. Therefore the means must be taken and placed in the appropriate places stalls. They are present 4.300 stations in the Navigli area, with other options near metro stops or in other parts of the city. In Milan, as reported, there are 32.000 for bikes. So no “wild stops”, also considering the service access and management apps, picking up and then parking the vehicles again in the appropriate areas, as indicated.
