Michelin and Michele Pirro celebrate their new record on the Misano track in a VIDEO
The Ducati rider recorded it in the second round of official CIV qualifying
Michelin - "Turn on the gas. Feel the power of the engine. Focus on the next landmark. The seconds tick by, silently. Michele Pirro knows Misano in every detail. 25 April 2015, 1:35:813 new lap record at the CIV, with Michelin tyres”. You can read this on the Facebook page of Michelin Italy to pay homage to new record recorded on the famous Romagna track by the rider of Team Ducati Barni SBK CIV, Michael Pirro.
To beat the Misano track record, Michele Pirro must rely on many elements. The reliability of one's own Ducati, an asphalt with the optimal temperature and, above all, excellent tyres. "From the first lap I immediately felt the difference. The new slick tires offer maximum traction, the best acceleration stability and at the same time impeccable handling and driving precision.", Pirro says in the video. The second round of official qualifying at Misano World Circuit ended with a sensational pole position of Michele Pirro who, riding his Ducati Panigale R with Michelin tyres, was the author of a stratospheric lap which allowed him to sign the new record of the Romagna track with a time of 1'35.813.
For the record in the first round of Italian Speed Championship, held at the Misano World Circuit, the Michelin-tyred bikes offered excellent performance, but also had bad luck. The first round saw the official Michelin team as the main protagonist of the Superbike class. At the end of an atypical race, stopped after 10 laps due to oil on the track and restarted after over an hour over a distance of just eight laps, only the victory was missing, which vanished three hundred meters from the checkered flag when a technical problem stopped Michele Pirro, until that moment the absolute dominator of the test.
