Metzeler Roadtec Scooter: the renewed proposal for the segment [PHOTO]

Forty-eight measurements reported

Metzeler Roadtec™ Scooter is a new scooter tire with wheels ranging from 10 a 16 inches. A versatile product, according to the indications, designed for use on different types of asphalt and in changing conditions.

The quality characteristics

The compound with a high silica content, together with the tread design, allows for high chemical and mechanical grip, as reported. The tread design is inspired by that of the tyre Roadtec™ 01, linked to experience in the sport touring segment. Furthermore, the adhesive resins increase the adhesion capacity to the asphalt and the safety level. The patented mixing process promotes component homogeneity in the polymer matrix, supporting performance consistency.
The carcass is more flexible than that of the product Feelfree™, designed to obtain a more "conformable" footprint with greater mechanical grip and more incisive adhesion, taking into account roughness and absorption of road irregularities.
The profiles are more rounded than Feelfree™, resulting in a shorter and wider tread footprint. Useful for containing overheating within operating limits, mitigating the wear phenomenon as well as a greater presence of functional notches especially in case of rain.

Prospectus

The initial range includes forty-eight sizes which will progressively take the place of Metzeler Feelfree™, Feelfree™ Wintec e Me 7 Teen™ currently present.
The front sizes are equipped with a high number of transversal grooves that mechanically adhere to the road surface, with a significant increase in water expulsion capabilities in wet conditions. The addition of sipes, keeping in mind the experience with Feelfree™ Wintec, facilitates warm up, grip and stability during stopping phases, as indicated. The repetition of the notches, then, is optimized with acoustic comfort in mind, together with better interaction with the ABS solutions.
The rear one combines carvings of various depths and sizes. Long and deep directional grooves taken from the Roadtec™ 01 appear crossed with other long sipes in the opposite direction. The former favor water dispersion and control. The specific orientation of the grooves also facilitates high mileage. The oppositely oriented slats maximize the water expulsion action and mechanical grip, as underlined.
Based on the measurements, the product may already be available or will be available later, taking the information again.
