What better opportunity than there Metzeler Legendary Knight to present to enthusiasts, in an absolute preview, the new sports tire SPORTEC M7 RR and custom touring ME 888 MARATHON Ultra. To christen the new covers, Steven Tyler, lead singer of Aerosmith and spokesperson for Dirico Motorcycles USA, and Guy Martin, British road racing icon.
Metzeler therefore expands its tire list with two new proposals, one dedicated to bikers who love custom style, the other for all other motorcyclists who own a road sports motorcycle. ME 888 MARATHON Ultra extends its range with new sizes (including the 23 inch front) and a new Whitewall version, and the new SPORTEC M7 RR.

The Metzeler ME 888 Marathon Ultra, heir to the ME 880, while maintaining the appreciated grip characteristics on both dry and wet surfaces, significantly increases the mileage. To achieve this result the engineers of the Casa dell'Elefantino have put every effort into choice of materials to use and in the development of every characteristic of the tire: compound, structure, tread and profile. The denomination blackwall indicates the standard version of this tire much appreciated among owners and lovers of long-stroke V-Twins and from now on they will be made further sizes available and a new version with 23" front fit. The new front size is particularly dedicated to those who want to transform their motorcycle into excavator and to those who, by customizing their vehicle, do not only want to obtain a display motorcycle but also a vehicle that is also capable of holding the road in the best possible way. Another interesting novelty is certainly the new version called white wall which goes alongside the "classic" one. These covers, which will be able to fit the most popular models in the segment heavy touring, V-Twin and metric cruisers, offer the same performance as the same size in "blackwall" and at the same time a carefully finished vintage look.

The new blackwall sizes of ME 888 MARATHON Ultra which join the existing ones are the 130/70 R 18 M/C 63H TL, MH90 – 21 M/C 54H TL and 130/60 B 23 M/C 65H TL at the front and 140/90 B 15 M/C 70H TL, 140/90 B 16 M/C Reinf 77H TL, 180/60 R 16 M/C 74H TL and 160/70 B 17 M/C 79V Reinf TL at the rear. It will be on the market starting from spring 2014 alongside the "blackwall" measures already on the market.

The Metzeler SPORTEC M7 RR noinstead, it comes from road racing experience, designed to be the worthy successor of SPORTEC M5 INTERACT. Looking at the tire the family feeling of the Brand is immediately visible, but the tread profiles are completely new, the use of revolutionary materials in the structure, new compounds and a new tread which derive from experience in road racing, hence the RR nomenclature in the naming. In short, tire fromsuper sporty soul but perfect for all situations encountered in road driving. In addition to the particular qualities of grip on wet surfaces also boasts a remarkable maneuverability and guarantees a much higher mileage compared to its predecessor; these improvements are due to a new profile and a new carcass. Wet or slippery asphalt is no longer a problem according to German technicians; the new tread with Greek π design it is an evolution of the previous M5 and promises better water drainage and control of the vehicle.
