Metzeler Karoo 3: the tires protagonists in the BMW Motorrad International GS Trophy 2020 [PHOTO]

Again Metzeler held the role of sole tire supplier in the new edition of BMW Motorrad International GS Trophy, played in New Zealand twigs 9 al 16 February 2020. Selected on this occasion Metzeler Karoo™ 3, a tire developed forenduro on-off.

Information

The chosen tire, as indicated, provides support to motorcyclists who are passionate about adventure on medium and long itineraries, considering its characteristics designed for optimal consistency of off-road performance, as well as stability and consistency along the route. The tests on asphalt, but also crossing stretches of mud, stones, fords as well as the treacherous New Zealand gravel, allowed us to verify once again its qualities, in terms of grip and overall performance, as indicated again on the occasion.
The event held every two years since 2008 (the first edition was held in Tunisia), allows you to evaluate the off-road qualities of the specimens made by BMW Motorrad. An interesting experience for the customers of the Bavarian brand, who passed specific selections considering the nature of the event. Since the first edition, Metzeler has always had the role of supplier and technical partner of the company in this trophy aimed at enthusiasts. Twenty-two teams from over twenty-five nations were present, together with two international women's teams, engaged in the BMW F 850 GS who wore German tyres. For the record, Team Italia took the third step of the podium.
The edition held from 9 to 16 February 2020 was taken from the lake Okataina, on the North Island and, after more than 2.650 challenging kilometres, the participants tackled an equally arduous course spanning eight days of competition, finally arriving in the South Island in Queenstown, taking the indications again.
