Metzeler – Metzeler obtains important international recognition. The British motorcycle weekly Motorcycle News carried out two tire comparisons, in both cases declaring the winners two tires from the Metzeler brand. The British magazine has, in fact, published in the issue on newsstands this week a large and detailed four-page article entitled "2016 TIRE TEST - GRIP FACTOR" in which it compares both the main supersport and sport touring tires on the market, assigning the first place in the ranking in the first case to the Metzeler Sportec M7 RR and in the second case to the Metzeler Roadtec 01.

Specifically, the comparative test of supersport tires was performed using a 1000 BMW S 2015 RR with "Race" mapping, traction control, ABS, and semi-active suspension, on which 120/70 -17 front tires were mounted. and 190/55 -17 rear. The test was carried out on the Spanish MotorLand Aragón circuit on 29 February 2016 with an asphalt temperature of 8° C. The test was carried out by MCN's Senior Road Tester, Michael Neeves. To make the test even more truthful, all the tires involved in the test were hidden by non-functioning thermal blankets and therefore entered the track cold. Each set of tires completed five laps of the track and was evaluated on a scale from 1 to 10 based on fourteen different evaluation parameters including warm-up speed, handling, neutrality of behaviour, sporting character , the ease of use, the stability, the ability to absorb the roughness of the asphalt, the cold grip and obviously the lap time. The Metzeler Sportec M7 RR won the comparison thanks to the warm-up speed, the feeling of safety offered when driving at the limit and the ease of use which allowed even the fastest lap to be achieved.

In the comparative test of sport touring tires Metzeler achieved both first place in the ranking with the new Roadtec 01, just introduced on the market, and second place with the Roadtec Z8 Interact. In this case the test was carried out on the roads around the MotorLand Aragón circuit using a BMW R 1200 RS with “Rain” mapping, traction control, ABS and semi-active suspension on which tires in sizes 120/70 – 17 were mounted front and 180/55 – 17 rear. The test was also carried out by Senior Road Tester Michael Neeves on 28 February 2016 with asphalt temperatures between 6° and 16° and variable dry and wet conditions, as well as cold and wind. As for the test involving the super sports tyres, also in this case, in order not to influence the tester in any way, the tires were hidden by non-functioning thermal blankets before the test and each set of tires was tested on a very varied route approximately 28 kilometers long and featuring different asphalt conditions typical of a normal road that any motorcycle could travel on. Also in this case each tire was rated with a score from 1 to 10 based on fifteen evaluation parameters.
