Market, two-wheeled vehicles: positive values ​​in February

A February have been registered 18.114 registrations, speaking of vehicles exceeding 50 cc, corresponding to + 11,8 % compared to the same month last year, taking up a statement reported by Confindustria ANCMA (National Association of Cycle Motorcycle Accessories). Growth that concerns both scooter, evaluating i 9.273 vehicles sold (+ 11,1 %), both motorbikes with 8.841 registrations (+ 12,5 %). The data for mopeds was also positive (1.678 sales and a good +53,5%), again compared to February 2019. Subsequently, based on the data collected in the period, the possible effects on the market of the current situation linked to the Covid-19 coronavirus.

The data

Overall they are indicated as a whole 36.218 unit, an increase of 12,9% speaking of the Italian two-wheel vehicle market in the first two months of 2020.
Estimating by displacement about scooter: above 50 cc the 125 cc ones stand out with 5.970 units (+8,7%), then the 300-500 cc models (5.847 and -8%), those from 150 up to 250 cc (3.295 and +31,6, 500%) and then maxi scooters over 1.965 cc (XNUMX and volumes doubled).
Moving on to motorcycle interest in vehicles over 1000 cc remains high with 4.428 vehicles and +4,2%. This is followed by examples between 800 and 1000 cc (3.867 units and +0,6%), those from 300 to 500 cc (2.646 and +4,2%), motorbikes from 600 and 750 cc (2.491 and +40,7% ), the 125 cc (1.680 and +5,1%) and the 150-250 cc (562 and +20,6%).
Highlighted by segment are road enduros (6.154 examples and +6,1%), then naked (5.254 and +10,5%), touring motorbikes (1.918 and +4,7%), custom (689 and -6,4, 982%), sports (40,7 and +418%) and supermotard (10,9 and a good +XNUMX%).

The trend linked to mopeds is also interesting, advancing by 51,6%, if compared to the first two months of last year (3.462 vehicles), taking into account the positive effect of the incentives, as indicated. Given a state contribution, the purchase of electric mopeds has increased threefold compared to the same period last year (1.391 units), just as the purchase of electric mopeds of the same type is also positive (645 units), still reflecting the data proposed.
