Motorcycle Market – In November the motorized two-wheeler market confirms the positive trend that characterized most of the year, with an overall increase (registered motorcycles and scooters plus 50cc vehicles) equal to +22% compared to November 2014.

Registrations showed double-digit progress on the Italian market last month, with 7.328 vehicles sold, equal to +27,3% compared to November last year. Motorcycles, always positive in the last 12 months, consolidated a significant development with 2.293 units and a +33,5%, while scooters with more than double volumes, equal to 5.035 vehicles registered in the month, marked an excellent +24,7% . The decline of the "fifties" was limited and, with 1.198 registrations, showed a minimal decline of -1,6%. “Interest in two-wheelers is growing again thanks also to the restart of economic indicators which show both GDP, orders and industrial activity positive. Furthermore, the drop in fuel prices favors the use of vehicles and the euro exchange rate also gives a further boost to exports in our sector. It improves confidence in the future which translates into a greater propensity to spend." he has declared Corrado Capelli, President of Confindustria ANCMA. "We like to think that the enthusiasm that was perceived among the EICMA pavilions can also be transferred into greater attention towards our world, synonymous with passion on the one hand and sustainable mobility on the other – continues President Capelli -. The coming months and the success of the new models presented will give us the measure of this recovery which will still have to accelerate to return to pre-crisis sales levels, which are still very far away."

The overall market for Italian motorized two-wheelers (registered motorcycles and scooters + 50cc vehicles) in the first 11 months of 2015 therefore amounted to 188.382 vehicles, equal to +6,2% compared to the same period last year. In the scooter sector, the analysis by displacement confirms the success of 125cc scooters with 37.517 sales, equal to +14,3%, while the 150-200cc with 22.180 units fell by -1,2%. In motorbikes, the main sector of maxi over 1000cc with 18.519 sales increased less than the average with a +2,8%; closely followed by the 800-1000cc with 17.865 vehicles sold and a surge of +39,4%. The intermediate displacements between 650 and 750cc with 11.084 units have a growth of +4,9%, while the segment of motorcycles from 300 to 600cc with 6.750 pieces achieved a +7,8%.

In terms of motorcycle segments, the naked bikes strengthened their first place with 23.541 units and a strong growth of +33,3%, overtaking the road enduros which with 18.874 sales achieved +4,7%. In third place were customs, making slight progress with 6.030 bikes and +4%.
