Motorcycle and scooter market, ANCMA: growth of 3,2% in August compared to the same month of 2021

Positive trend in August for moped market, scooter e motorcycle, after the recent alternation of slowdowns and stagnation. An increase of 3,2% compared to the same month of 2021, as emerges from the press release released in the evening by Confindustria ANCMA (National Association of Cycle Motorcycle Accessories).

Situation as of August 2022

From January until last month the cumulative annual figure remains slightly negative, indicating a value of -2,4%, in light of 227.425 units. Scooters decreased by 10,2%, considering 107.021 registrations; while for motorbikes there was a good trend with an increase of 4,5% and 99.226 new entries. The moped market is also growing significantly: an increase of 17,7% with 15.622 vehicles.
Slow down the department electric compared to the positive trend seen since January. The lack of incentives and the distorting effects of a contract last year concerning the scooter sharing sector are highlighted. In August, 597 vehicles were registered, recording a decrease of 25,9%. However, growth in the first eight months remains robust, in light of a 69,3% increase over 2021 and 11.953 admissions. Scooters lead the sector with 7.043 units and a positive trend of 77,5%.
Summarizing the results of August 2022, after six months of decline, the two-wheel market is rising again thanks to 16.126 vehicles sold and an increase of 3,2 percentage points over the same period of 2021. Motorcycles stand out with 6.864 units sold and an increase of 13,4%. . Scooters are still declining with 7.948 registrations and a drop of 5,17% on 2021. The trend of mopeds is still positive, growing constantly in 2022 except for the month of May. 1.314 examples were registered with an increase of 10,8%.
