Motorcycle and scooter market, ANCMA: 2022 closed with growth

The trend in the two-wheeler market remains positive, after the solid trend that began the previous October. Considering last December, an increase of was recorded 4,55% in the overall registrations of mopeds, scooters and motorbikes, compared to the same month of 2021. A figure reported in the press release released by Confindustria ANCMA (National Association of Cycle Motorcycle Accessories). The year 2022, therefore, ends positively with an increase of + 0,95 %, already remembering the progress of 2021 that ended with + 21,2 % on 2020. Over 2.700 more vehicles introduced on the road compared to 2021, according to information.

During the last year, negative data was archived in seven months, but the market overall remained essentially unchanged compared to 2021, given the increase of 0,95% and 291.661 examples marketed.
Focusing attention on the groupings, between February and September, in the scooter market the deficit was over 13 thousand units and only part of the ground was recovered, reaching 143.845 units. A drop of 4,84%.
On the contrary, the performance of motorcycles was good with 126.571 units, an increase of 6,35%. The double-digit closure of mopeds was also further positive with 21.245 vehicles, an increase in this case of 13,3%.
Just looking at the month of December, the growth of the market continues as mentioned. There were 9.200 registrations communicated, corresponding to an increase of 4,55% compared to December of the previous year. An increase that concerns scooters, in double figures in light of an increase of 11,52% and 4.482 registered vehicles. The performance of motorcycles is positive and contained, with a value of 3,95% on the same month of 2021 and 3.763 units registered. However, in the month the first drop was recorded for mopeds, still positive since May, given the 955 units entered and a decrease of 17,74%.
