The data regarding registrations of two-wheeled motorized vehicles in the month of June, tested positive. Registered + 37,3% compared to the same month of 2019, as reported by Confindustria ANCMA. An interesting value, although it remains in memory lockdown linked to the health emergency.

Information

In June the total registered (vehicles > 50cc) was 39.085, an increase of 37,3% as mentioned. Scooters stand out, with 22.229 units sold and a growth of 26,5%, as is the case for motorbikes, the increase of which amounts to 55%, taking into account 16.820 units. The percentage of mopeds was also good, +9,6% and 2.568 units registered.
In the total year, from January to June 2020, 106.874 units were registered (-23% compared to the same period of 2019), 47.959 motorbikes with a decrease of 23,7% and 58.816 scooters (-22,3%). Mopeds also fell by 17,1%, in total 7.984 sales, considering the first half of 2019. Overall (registrations + mopeds) 114.858 units, indicating a drop of 22,6%.

Types and segments

Considering the displacements, motorcycles over 1000 cc are present at the top with 12.205 vehicles registered and a decrease of 23,2%. In succession the 800-1000 displacements with 11.793 units and -35,5% and the 650-750 cc with 9.005 vehicles and -10,9%. Continuing there are the 300-600 cc with 8.862 units and -18,5%, the 125 cc with 4.866 units and -25,6% and finally the vehicles between 150 cc and 250 cc with 1335 registrations and -1,4%.
Among scooterOn the other hand, the engine sizes between 300 cc and 500 cc stand out given the 21.205 units sold (-27,4%), then the 125 cc with 21.191 vehicles (-23,9%). In succession the 150-250 cc displacements with 9.723 units (-20,3%), while in countertrend the maxi scooters over 500 cc with 6.714 units (+3%).
In the analysis for segments of motorbikes, naked bikes are in first place (18.045 vehicles and -23,8%), followed by enduro (17.390 units and -21,7%), tourism (6.202 units and -25,1%), custom (2.384 registrations and -28,7%), sports (2.338 models and -22,2%), supermotard (1.147 units and -37,1%) and trials (491 units and -19,1%).
Finally a look at electric panorama with a limited increase in the month of June of 17% and 657 vehicles sold, considering in the first six months of the year an increase of 73,9% and 3.914 models registered. The recent approval of an amendment promoted by ANCMA "aimed at canceling the scrapping obligation for the purchase with Ecobonus of a zero-emission motorbike or scooter", as indicated, could provide a further boost. With the conversion of the so-called Relaunch Decree into law, a possible 30% discount on the purchase price is envisaged, rising up to 40% in the event that a thermal vehicle is scrapped, as reported.
