Two-wheeler market, ANCMA: +16% in November compared to 2019

Good performance in the motorized two-wheeler market in November, after the decline seen in October. The registration data relating to mopeds, scooters and motorbikes in the past month, reported by Confindustria ANCMA (National Association of Motorcycle Cycle Accessories), highlight a new overall increase of 16% on a more indicative comparison with 2019. The comparison with 2020 is negative, although less significant: -2,4%. A year characterized by instability and strong rebounds in sales due to restrictions linked to Covid-19. In particular, in the month of November a total increase of 18,73% was recorded and for motorbikes alone +40,86%.

In the first eleven months of the year, an overall increase of 22,2% was ascertained for mopeds, scooters and motorbikes, corresponding to 280.248 registered vehicles. Specifically, 17.675 mopeds with a decrease of 3,1% on 2020, while after October there was a recovery for the scooter market with 147.131 vehicles registered and +21,6%. Motorcycle growth was also good with a percentage of 28,1% and 115.442 units. Compared to the first eleven months of 2019, the overall market increase was 14,8%.
Moving on to the electricity front, in the month just ended, 816 sales were recorded with a decrease of 38,8%, linked to the effects of last year's orders, as reported. A result that brings this market back on par with November 2020: +0,1% and 10.011 vehicles. Compared to the first eleven months of 2019, growth was 122,1%.
In summary, in the month of November, a total of 12.176 units were registered (mopeds + registered), noting a decline of 2,4% compared to the same month of 2020. The most significant one concerns mopeds with 1.196 vehicles sold and a figure of -17,97 .1,4%. The trend of scooters was different with +6.097% and 2,5 vehicles registered, while there was also a decline of 4.883% for motorbikes with 2019 units. In the comparison with the month of November 16, there is an overall growth of +XNUMX%.
