Two-wheeler market, ANCMA: a good start in 2022

After the interesting balance of 2021 with a closing of +21,2% and registration volumes that recalled the period before the pandemic, the progress of the two-wheeled motorized vehicle market. The market data referring to the month of January 2022, proposed in the evening by Confindustria ANCMA (National Association of Motorcycle Cycle Accessories), highlight an overall increase for mopeds, scooters and motorbikes 9,8% on the same month last year. The performance of mopeds was good with +47,5%, just as that of motorbikes remained positive with +23,3%. That of scooters was stable with +0,3%, as indicated.

There is also a positive balance for the electric vehicles with volumes doubling in January 2021 and +117,2%. 1.060 vehicles were placed on the market, observing a technical rebound on the same month last year, with the then decline of 35%. The result of mopeds is also highlighted with 675 vehicles registered and an increase of 156,6%, despite the importance of orders linked to sharing mobility being underlined.
Considering the data, in the month of January there was a growth of 9,8% in the entire sector, with a total of 15.481 vehicles placed on the market. The data linked to stands out mopeds, recording +47,5% and 1.684 vehicles sold, also in light of the technical rebound in the comparison with January 2021 where a decrease of 36% was ascertained. In line with last year scooter data 6.041 vehicles and +0,3%, as mentioned. The performance of the too is good motorcycle with 7.756 vehicles with double-digit growth of 23,3%.
