Two-wheeler market, ANCMA: a decline of 7% in July
A weakening linked to supply problems
According to the monthly statement proposed by Confindustria ANCMA (National Association of Cycle and Motorcycle Accessories), the summer market for motorized two-wheelers in Italy varies between stagnation and slowdowns. After two months of static trend, overall there was a 7% decrease of registrations mopeds, scooter e motorcycle in month of July, compared to the same month last year.

Based on the values, they were put on the street in July 32.897 specimens in total, 7% less than 2021 as mentioned, despite considering one more working day. An outcome linked to the decline in the scooter segment, given the 17.046 vehicles registered and a decrease of 9,2%. There is always a decline, but a smaller one, for the motorcycle segment; a percentage of -7,5% and 13.185 vehicles entered. However, the trend of mopeds is different, also considering the data of electric models, up by 12,5% with 2.666 vehicles registered.
Just focusing on the segment electric, continues the positive trend and in July the figure grew by 79,4% with 2.184 units. The trend of the annual cumulative figure is also interesting, in light of 11.356 specimens and a growth of 81,7%. Of particular note is the scooter segment with 6.644 units and a percentage increase of 87,4%, a figure that almost doubles compared to the previous year.
Bearing in mind the period ranging from January to July, the cumulative annual figure holds up given the 205.732 units reported, a decrease of 2,8%. The progress of scooters and motorbikes is different, given a drop of 10,6% in the first case with 99.068 registrations, while in the second there is a growth of 3,9% compared to 2021 with 92.356 units placed. The performance of mopeds was also good, growing by 18,3% with 14.308 vehicles introduced on the market.
