Two-wheel market, ANCMA: +41,2% in August
Another positive month, considering the previous lockdown
A positive percentage of 41,2% on the same month of 2019. As reported by Confindustria ANCMA (National Association of Motorcycle Cycle and Accessories), relating to the market of August 2020 in the two-wheel sector, it follows the positive trend established a July.
Values in August and overall
The total registered, considering vehicles with a displacement greater than 50 cc, is 16.673 sales and an increase compared to the same period of 2019 of +42,44%. The trend for scooters and motorbikes is similar, with growth of 42,87% (10.031 vehicles) and 41,80% (6.642 vehicles) respectively. In the month of August, the data relating to mopeds was also positive: 1.526 vehicles sold and +28,99%. So overall 41,21%, corresponding to 18.199 unit.
Considering the first eight months of 2020, registrations of scooters and motorbikes amounted to 160.490 units, estimating a loss of 10,93% compared to the same period last year. Specifically, 90.662 scooters were ascertained with a decrease of 10,13% and 69.828 motorbikes registered with a reduction amounting to 11,94%. Gradual approach to 2019 volumes for the "fifties", recording 12.693 sales and a decrease of 5,68%. In total 173.183 vehicles on the market and a loss of 10,56%, as reported.
Displacements, segments and electric
Evaluating for displacement, between January and August 2020 the class of 125 cc vehicles stands out with 34.921 units and a decrease of 9,35%, then the scooters between 300 and 500 cc with 32.336 units at a decrease of 14,20% and the 150–250 scooters cc with 16.320 vehicles and a decrease of 8,22%. Speaking of maxi scooters over 500 cc, according to indications there was a recovery of the volumes lost during the health emergency with 8.427 units and a growth of 0,8%.
Moving on to motorbikes, in front there are displacements between 800 and 1.000 cc with 16.784 vehicles sold, however taking into account a drop of 25,76%. In succession the displacements over 1.000 cc with 16.613 pieces and a decrease of 11,85%; 300–600 cc motorcycles with 13.114 units placed and a decline of 6,54%; the 650–750 cc displacements with 13.081 units and an increase of 1,33%; models up to 125 cc with 8.281 registrations and a decrease of 7,9%; therefore vehicles between 150–250 cc with 1.955 sales and a positive trend of 2,51%.
Analyzing for segments, over the eight months the naked ones remain queens with 27.491 sales (-9,97%). This is followed by enduros with 24.897 units (-11,31%), touring motorbikes with 8.428 units (-14,27%), customs with 3.268 vehicles (-20,74%), sports bikes with 3.164 vehicles (-12,79 .2.482%), then supermotard and trial bikes with 16,7 units (-XNUMX%).
Finally, the performance of the new one is positive electrical proposal recording +837,88% with 2.129 vehicles on the market and overall 5.806 vehicles up by 91,93% in the first eight months.
